Marvel fans will get to witness Fantastic Four for the first time in the MCU multiverse. This time, there’s no overcrowded lineup, no crossover cameos stealing the spotlight. It’s all about Marvel’s first family from start to finish.

July won’t arrive soon enough, but breaking down the trailer and looking for Marvel’s signature Easter eggs is just the way to end the wait. Because let’s face it, no MCU trailer drop doesn’t come without a few sneaky hints for the sharp-eyed fans. So let’s break down ten of the coolest Easter eggs in the Fantastic Four: First Steps teaser.
Table of Contents
Fantastic Four: First Steps – All Easter Eggs
10. Yancy Street Gang Reference

The trailer doesn’t waste time on these fun little Easter eggs for eagle-eyed comic book fans. At about the 14-second mark, two classic Easter eggs appear. First, there’s the street sign where we get to see The Thing (Ben Grimm) picking up a car like it’s light as a feather.
If you look to the left, the neon yellow street name is “Yancy ST”, a direct reference to the Yancy Street Gang, the rough neighborhood gang that’s been giving Ben Grimm trouble in the comics since day one.
9. A Heartfelt Stan Lee Tribute

It would not be a Marvel film without some reference to the man who started it all. In one scene, there is a sign for “Stanley’s Service Center”, a clear and sincere reference to the great Stan Lee.
It’s a nice little homage to Lee, who co-founded the Fantastic Four with Jack Kirby and much of the Marvel Universe, so it is nice that the film contains this small reference.
8. Teases an Old Spider-Man Villain

Flash forward to the 27-second mark, and there’s another great blink-and-you ‘ll-miss-it reference. Next to some firefighters, there’s a sign that reads “Silvermane’s,” a name Spider-Man enthusiasts will instantly recognize.

Silvermane is one of the crime lords who’s been around since the old days in Marvel history, usually web-entangled with Spidey and the criminal element.
7. Marvel’s First Human Torch

At 44 seconds, the Human Torch, aka Johnny Storm, is seen munching on a box of Lucky Charms cereal, but the real Easter egg is what’s being drawn on the box.
The drawing actually shows Marvel’s first Human Torch, a character who had appeared way, way back in the publisher’s earliest days, long before Johnny had ever donned the suit. A nice little Easter egg for comic book hardcores.
The 1:23 mark is full of even more multi-layered details. In the distance, you’ll see a neon sign for “Westview Appliance Television,” a sly reference to the town of Westview from WandaVision, where Wanda Maximoff warped reality like it was her personal playground.
6. A WandaVision Connection

The 1:23 mark is full of even more multi-layered details. In the distance, you’ll see a neon sign for “Westview Appliance Television,” a sly reference to the town of Westview from WandaVision, where Wanda Maximoff warped reality like it was her personal playground.
This reference makes total sense since the film is being directed by the same director as WandaVision, Matt Shakman. It’s merely a tiny detail, but a pretty nice little nod to fans who’ve tracked both productions.
5. A Humorous Reference to The Last of Us

Among all the superhero chaos, the trailer inserts a sly little pop-culture Easter egg. Next to the Westview Appliance Television sign, there’s a movie theater playing a movie called Attack of the Fungi, which is like a wink-wink nod to The Last of Us, the popular game-turned-TV-show, where a mutant fungal infection destroys humanity. It’s a fun wink from the filmmakers, showing they’re not afraid to have a little fun with their references.

And a few feet away? Another movie poster with the title Subzero Intel, a probable reference to Captain America’s icy past, frozen in time before he entered the modern world.
4. A Glimpse of Subterranea

At 1:38, dedicated fans may have caught a glimpse of Subterranea. The Subterranean is the home of Mole Man, the Fantastic Four’s first comic book supervillain in 1961.
And to add fuel to the fire, word has been circulating that actor Paul Walter Hauser may be cast as Mole Man. If so, that brief teaser image could be building toward the team’s longest-standing foe finally making its big-screen debut.
3. The Future Foundation Suit

Then at 1:41, Sue Storm appears in frame looking stylish in a streamlined white suit, and if you’ve been reading the comics, you’ll know it as the Future Foundation uniform.
The Future Foundation is a think tank Reed Richards started to tackle the universe’s greatest challenges, where science and strategy, and superpowers meet. Seeing Sue pull off that suit is a hint at some seriously awesome things in the Fantastic Four’s future.
2. Timely Comics Reference

Finally, near the very end of the trailer at 1:58, the last set of Easter eggs drops. There is a red sign that says in bold text, “Timely Comics,” a reference to the early Marvel days when the company still used that name before they changed it in the ’60s.
Next to it is another store sign with “Leighton’s,” likely a reference to Rachel Leighton, a lesser-seen Serpent Society villain, a group that often clashed with Captain America.
1. The FantastiCar Finally Arrives

And while technically not a spoiler, fans will enjoy the Fantasticar showing up twice at both the 1:19 and 1:58 milestones. One of the biggest thrills for die-hard fans is the live-action debut of the Fantastic-Car, Reed Richards’ iconic flying car.
This vehicle has been a part of the team’s arsenal since comic book origins, showing up in different shapes and designs over the years, and now it gets the big-screen treatment. Sleek, shiny, and long overdue for making its cinematic release, the Fantasticar looks as if it’s going to be given the spot it so deserves.
Fantastic Four: First Steps – All Easter Eggs
Marvel’s classic family is finally getting the recognition they have so long been due, and the new trailer for Fantastic Four: First Steps is providing fans with all the reasons they could possibly need to be hyped.
The Easter eggs, the suit designs, the back teases, they’re all proof of just how much care Marvel’s putting into crafting this introduction to the team that started it all. With the world-building, the nostalgia, and the new plot threads, this movie could very well be the welcome that the Fantastic Four have always deserved.
