Scrolling Screenshots are coming to iOS 13, however, they will only work inside Safari browser. So what about other apps like messengers, iMessage, etc? Also, not all iPhones and iPads are compatible with the latest iteration of the uber OS. 1. Native Way
With the launch of iOS 14, Apple has baked in a native way to take scrolling screenshots called Full Page. The feature is currently available in select Apple apps only like Safari. When you take a screenshot, a thumbnail presents itself in the lower left corner of the screen.
Tap on the thumbnail and you should view two tabs one of which would say Full Page.
That would take a scrolling screenshot and you also have a couple of annotating tools like marker, eraser, and color picker.
But the problem is that this is still not available systemwide and leaves a little to be desired which is where third-party apps come into the picture.
2. Long Picture
The first app in the list is Long Picture. As the name suggests, it will take a long picture or a scrolling screenshot of your screen irrespective of the screen or app you have open. You can rearrange the pictures if you want but I don’t know why you would do that.
The free version has a limit of 10 images. You will then have to pay $0.99 to remove ads and restrictions both. It comes with an image that will let you edit order, padding, and size. The last one can be used to remove sensitive parts from the image. There is no shortcut to take screenshots automatically.

3. Tailor
Tailor is another app that will take scrolling screenshots on iPhones and iPads. It can take screenshots automatically too. The only drawback is that there is no manual selection available so you have to be careful when taking screenshots. Other than that, works like a charm.
Tailor works seamlessly but sometimes, there is an overlap in the sense that it selects the wrong image. That doesn’t happen everytime but when it does, its annoying. Tailor is free to use but ad-supported which can be removed with an in-app purchase of $2.99.

4. Picsew
Picsew app will automatically take scrolling screenshots on iOSÂ devices when and where you intend to. You can in fact stitch up to 300 images in a single screenshot which should be more than enough for more most users. While most users would need vertical, for rare cases and needs, Picsew also supports horizontal screenshots.
There is no need to open the app and then move back and forth. There is a shortcut in the notification center that you can use instead. Basic editing features are there like redact, watermark, annotation, and mock up. Again, sufficient for most users. Finally, you can stitch images manually, allowing more granular control over output.

5. Stitch It
Stitch It is probably the best scrolling screenshots app for iOS users. The only other app that comes close to it is Picsew which I talked about above. You begin by taking screenshots of the web page or the text message window. You can then edit these images within the app to remove unwanted areas or crop out sensitive parts.
Editing tools include redact, highlight, and more. Finally, you can stitch them together. The dev team is very responsive to feedback and keep adding new features or tweak old ones based on user comments and reviews. Nicely done.
The pro version will cost you $2.99 and will remove ads, watermark, and 3 image limit.

6. SIRI Shortcut
Apple released a new app called Shortcuts recently which allows users to create recipes to automate many of the tasks on their iPhones. One such shortcut is Websaver+ that can take scrolling screenshots on iPhones of entire web pages with a single click. No need to take multiple screenshots and then stitch them. There is no need to open the web page either.
While the above shortcut is cool, it only works for web pages. So what about other apps like messages, chats, and so on? There is another shortcut that you can use for that. 7. StitchPics
StitchPics is another app that supports both manual and automatic stitching to create long scrolling screenshots on iPhone devices. It is also the only other app in the list, apart from Picsew to support both vertical and horizontal scrolling. Most scrolling screenshot apps mess it up when selecting images, but not StitchPics. It simply works.
That’s because there is an auto function that takes screenshots, matches them, and then joins them. Note that there is no editing options here but there are plenty of image editors that can do the job. Still, it would have been nice. On the plus side, the app is completely but ad-supported. You can remove ads for $2.99 which will also add features like crop, watermark, and ability to add borders.

Scrolling Screenshots on iPhone
If you need to take screenshots on Safari, and your device supports iOS 13, then you can simply wait for the new version or download one of the above apps. However, if you need to take screenshots in both vertical and horizontal formats, StitchPics and Picsew are probably your best bet. Then there is the Shortcut recipe that I shared above which only works for Safari browser though.
