Abyss is a new game in Roblox that is all about exploring deeper and deeper into the ocean. When you are diving like this, knowing where to go next can save you lots of time. The game has several biomes you will visit as you get better equipment. Each area has its own shops, NPCs, and items you need to progress. In this guide, I will show you all the biomes in Abyss, so it’s easier for you to locate the places.

Biomes and Locations Abyss

1. The Forgotten Deep Biome in Abyss

Forgotten Deep is where your adventure starts. This is the spawn area where you’ll do your first quests and get your basic equipment. The whole point of this biome is to prepare you for the deeper areas ahead.

The Kraken is the main NPC here who gives you your starting quests. He’ll tell you to upgrade your gun and tubes, plus catch different types of fish at the beginning. There’s also a Scientist NPC here who helps you unlock the Teleporter. Additionally, there is also Virelia, who can crack your geodes to get various artifacts, David, the Tube seller, Henry, the gun seller, and Billy, who can upgrade your storage.

You will also interact with Mr. Black, who introduces you to the fish mutations in the game. Last but not least, there is also an NPC called Richard, who tracks all the fish you catch in the game and gives Star Shards as rewards for each new species. These Star shards can be used to reroll your race in the game

2. Ancient Sands Biome in Abyss

After Forgotten Deep, the story will bring you towards Ancient Sands. To reach this biome, you need to buy the Pufferfish Tube so that you can reach 180m depth. Once you reach, you need to upgrade to the Boat Tube pretty quickly, so you can have more oxygen.

The big landmark here is the sand waterfall. Most of the stuff is underneath it or inside the cave. This whole area is a great farming spot for mid-game fish, so you will probably spend a lot of time here grinding for coins. Marcus is the first NPC you’ll meet here. He’s just under the sand waterfall, sitting near the creature’s skeleton. He can give you quests and sell you important upgrades.

From his spot, you can dive a bit deeper and turn right, where you can find Crazy Jeff inside a cave. Jeff is super important because he’s the one who sells you the map. You absolutely need this map to navigate the game better. His cave also has oxygen replenishment pods inside, which save your life when you’re running low on air.

Grumpy Hank and the Suspicious Fisher are also hanging around this biome. They give you side quests and helpful items.

3. Ocean Biome in Abyss

If you head far east from the Kraken in the Forgotten Deep Dome, 280-300 meters deep, you will find the Ocean biome. Deep in the water, you will first see the Diver NPC sitting on top of a submarine. And then you can also find the Lost Captain NPC on a wrecked ship.

If you go under the caves inside the Ocean, you will see an entrance to Morveth’s cave, too. All of these NPCs will give you various quests, but Morveth will actually give you your first Ruby Rune in the game.

4. Spirit Roots Biome in Abyss

Your next stop in the game is Spirit Roots. This biome is where you go after you’ve maxed out your gear. This biome needs you to have a tube that can reach 375-450 meters. Getting to this biome requires you to complete the Diver’s quest chain, specifically the chest delivery quests. Once you finish those, you can warp directly to this biome using the teleporter.

There are a total of 5 important NPCs in this area. Isolde and Lumi are the main NPCs you’ll interact with first. Complete their quests, and you will open up the water barrier. Behind that barrier is where all the best stuff is. You can meet Victor, who will give you the Lost Spirit tube and gun.

Additionally, the last two NPCs so far that you can find in the Spirit Roots are Golem and King Cat. Golem will give you many rewards, and the King Cat will give you the King’s Fortune.

5. Sunken Wilds / Jungle Biome

The Synken Wilds is an underwater jungle area in Abyss and acts as a sub-biome of the Spirit Roots region. This location was added during the Jungle Update, and the area features dense underwater vegetation, ancient ruins, and several new fish species to discover.

You can meet different NPCs here, like the Monk, Builder Monkey, Arthur, a group of Thief Monkeys, and also King Monkey. Inside the area, you can also explore the Monkey King’s Lair, which acts as a safe zone, and the Sunken Temple. The environment ranges from around 507 meters to 683 meters in depth, making proper diving gear important before entering.

Hidden and Other Biomes and Locations in Abyss

There are some hidden biomes and locations in the game:

1. Angler’s Cave

The Angler’s Cave is a special biome that comes after you unlock it through a quest. Remember the Lost Captain I mentioned above? You need to complete his entire quest chain to unlock the Angler Cave. However, you must reach level 35 to even start his quests. The cave is located right across from him, and it is pretty dark inside, so you might want to adjust your brightness settings.

The Lightkeeper NPC is located here. This NPC has special items and quests for you. The main attraction, though, is the King Anglerfish, which is one of the toughest fish in the game. You’ll need strong equipment to catch it.

2. Bob’s Secret Duck Room

This is another hidden location in Abyss and has the absolute best gear in the game. Getting here requires finding 15 special ducks scattered across all the biomes. They’re hidden in different spots across Forgotten Deep, Ancient Sands, Spirit Roots, and other areas. You have to explore thoroughly to find all 15.

Once you find all 15 ducks, a secret door unlocks. Go to the area behind the Tubes Shop in Forgotten Deep Dome and then drive straight. You’ll find the entrance to Bob’s room. Here, you will be able to buy the Bath Tube and the Plunger Gun.

3. Valentine’s Event

This is actually not a hidden location, but an event location. It’s only available during Valentine’s Event, and there are three NPCs located at this spot. They are Post Bird, Big Boss, and Cupcake. Post Bird gives you various quests of sending letters to other NPCs, Big Boss asks you to find Cupid and Lonely mutations, and Cupcakes sells new Valentine’s guns.

How to Get the Map to Locate Biomes in Abyss

You can only unlock the map after reaching Ancient Sands and buying it from Crazy Jeff. Before that, you’re navigating all the biomes in Abyss blind. The map makes finding biomes and NPCs way easier, so get it as soon as possible. Use the teleporters once you unlock them. They save tons of time traveling between biomes. The first teleporter is in Forgotten Deep, and you’ll find more as you explore new areas.

Remember that oxygen management is huge in this game. Each biome has different depth requirements, and going too deep with a weak tube will kill you fast. Always check your tube’s depth limit before diving into a new area. For more tips, codes, and game information, check out our Roblox Abyss wiki.
