The latest Abyss update brought in a brand new biome called Gloomspore Valley, and it's one of the biggest additions the game has seen. It's a large area split into three separate sub-biomes, each with its own things to find and do. If you're not sure where to start, this Gloomspore Valley Biome guide in Abyss will break it all down for you.

Gloomspore Valley Biome Guide in Abyss

Open your map, and you'll be able to spot the new biome right away. It's a large area and pretty hard to miss once the update is installed. It's on the bottom right side of the Forgotten Deep biome. The main section is labeled Gloomspore Valley, and from there, you can navigate into each of the three sub-biomes.

Sub-Biome 1: The Elves Pit

The first and main area of Gloomspore Valley biome is where you'll spend most of your time when you first arrive. It's a huge mountain in the middle of the area. In the Elves Pit sub-biome, you can refill your oxygen, since the area can drain your oxygen fast.

This will also be the main teleporter location for Gloomspore Valley. Inside, you can also find the Spore Guardian NPC, who gives you a quest that you can finish in just a few minutes. It's very simple and quick, so try not to skip it because completing it is what eventually unlocks the gate to the hidden cave.

Once you finish the quest, two things happen. First, you earn a badge. Second, the gate behind the NPC swings open, revealing a massive cave underneath. That cave is its own whole thing to explore, with more NPCs, quests, gear, and a giant gate at the bottom that needs three runes to open.

Sub-Biome 2: Aria's Altar

The second sub-biome is a separate section within Gloomspore Valley. When you enter, you'll find an altar area with the Aria NPC standing on top of it, and another teleporter, which makes it easy to travel back and forth without backtracking the whole map.

The best tube in the update, which is the Crystal Tube, is also available here. It costs 720,000 coins and gives you a big boost to your oxygen capacity. If you're planning to explore deep into the new content, this is the one you want. You can also find a new gun here. This area is a bit more tucked away compared to the main valley, so make sure you explore it fully when you arrive.

Sub-Biome 3: Crimson Spores

The third sub-biome is there, but right now it has a bug you need to know about. When you walk into the Spore Cave, there's a gas that kills you instantly. It's not intentional, because the devs are aware and will likely patch it soon.

When you enter the cave, there will be a teleporter on the right side, and a Hazmat Guy NPC across from it on the left. Once the developer fixes the bug, the gas should clear and let you in safely. Until the patch drops, don't just walk straight in, or you'll lose your progress in the run. There's also another tube you can buy in this area, along with another gun, so it's worth coming back once it's fixed.

Fungus Temple Puzzle in Gloomspore Valley Biome

At the very edge of the map, located in the Fungus Temple, there is a torch puzzle you can complete for a decent reward. You need to light up all the torches in the right combination to unlock the doors. Once you do, you can get so many rewards, plus another way to find an NPC called Veya.

It's not hard at all, and it's a solid way to make some quick money while you're exploring the new biome. Orcas also spawn near the puzzle area, and they seem like a good source of income, too. Especially if you've already picked up one of the new tubes.

The Gloomspore Valley biome is huge, and the best way to enjoy it is to go through each sub-biome one at a time. Start with the main area, grab the best tube if you can afford it, finish the NPC quest, and then work your way into the cave when you're ready. Good luck!
