You can’t do much in Abyss without a tube. Try diving deep without one, and you’ll run out of oxygen in seconds. So, tubes are basically your lifeline in this game. They let you breathe underwater, explore deeper zones, and carry more fish back to sell. This guide breaks down all tubes in Abyss, shows you their stats, and tells you where to buy them.

What Are Tubes in Abyss
Tubes are your most important piece of equipment in Abyss. They work like underwater breathing devices that let you explore the ocean safely. You will see your oxygen bar at the bottom left of your screen, and this tells you how much air you have left.
When your oxygen drops below 10, you start moving more slowly. If you notice this, go back as soon as possible to the spawn area. If your oxygen hits zero, you die and lose your progress.

Every tube has four key stats that determine how well it performs:
- Oxygen capacity (O2) shows how long you can stay underwater before needing air.
- Max depth tells you how deep you can safely dive.
- Weight limit determines how many fish you can carry before slowing down.
- Speed, which determines how fast you can go under the water.

How To Get Tubes in Abyss
You can get these tubes by buying them from different NPCs scattered around the map. Start by talking to David at David’s Tubes Shop to get your free Wooden Tube. David also sells the first four upgrades (Old Tube, Normal Tube, Fire Tube, and Pufferfish Tube), so he’s your main shop in the early game.

Once you’ve saved up more money, you’ll need to find other sellers. Marcus sells the Boat Tube, which is great for deep zones. The Diver NPC sells the Zeplin Tube, and finally, you can get the best tube in the game from Bob’s Secret Shop.
What to Upgrade First?
Not all stats are equally important when you’re deciding which tube to buy next. Here’s what you should focus on:
- Max depth should be your priority. Going deeper lets you find rarer fish that sell for way more money.
- Weight limit matters, but only after you’ve unlocked deeper areas. Get the depth first, then worry about carrying capacity.
- Oxygen capacity is actually the least important stat. Most tubes give you plenty of air to reach the bottom, catch fish, and return to the surface. Plus, you can always swim into bubbles to refill instantly.
Your tube’s max depth determines which zones you can safely explore. If you push beyond your limit, your oxygen drains so fast that you’ll barely make it back to the surface. Always know your tube’s limit and don’t risk it unless you’re sure you can make it back.
That’s all you need to know about tubes in Abyss. The deeper you can go, the better fish you will catch with your guns, the more mutations you can find, and the faster you’ll earn money.
