Whether you are jumping in for a quick pirate adventure or planning to squeeze every last drop out of the Caribbean, there is a lot of game here. Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is not as sprawling as the modern RPG entries like Odyssey or Valhalla but it is still a meaty experience, especially if you go after everything. Here is a rough breakdown of how long it takes to beat AC Black Flag Resynced.

How Long to Beat the Main Story

If you stick mostly to the main campaign and do not get too distracted by side content, you are looking at around 20 to 22 hours to finish Edward Kenway's story. That said, we found it hard not to wander off and explore between missions because the open ocean genuinely rewards curiosity. By the time we finished the main story with a decent amount of side activities mixed in, we were closer to 30 hours.

One thing worth knowing is that rushing the main story without upgrading the Jackdaw can make the later missions noticeably harder. Taking a bit of time to plunder ships and invest in a few key upgrades makes the experience smoother, so factor that into your time estimate.

How Long to 100% Complete AC Black Flag Resynced

Going for full completion is a serious commitment. Beyond the main campaign, there are Templar Hunts, Assassination Contracts, Legendary Ships, buried treasure maps, fort captures, Naval Contracts, and a lot of collectibles spread across dozens of islands. Some of these take a few minutes, and some require sailing across the entire map to track down.

If you are aiming for the Platinum Trophy, set aside at least 50 hours and probably more, depending on how efficiently you navigate the collectibles. The Exotic Sea Shells trinket we mentioned in our trinket guide is genuinely useful here since it cuts down the time you spend hunting animals for crafting materials, which is one of the longer time sinks in a full completion run.

Is It Worth Going for 100%

Honestly yes. The Caribbean in Black Flag Resynced is one of the most enjoyable open worlds to just exist in, and most of the side quests feel worthwhile rather than padded. The Templar Hunts in particular are some of the best side missions in the game, and the Legendary Ships are a real challenge that makes the Jackdaw upgrades feel meaningful. If you loved the original game, there is plenty here to keep you busy well past the credits. For more guides, check out our AC Black Flag Resynced wiki.
