What Are Alignment Quests in Fortnite Galactic Battle?
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 offers you a new feature that lets you pick sides in an epic battle between Light and Dark forces. The new Alignment quest system not only gives you a huge amount of XP when you complete it all, but also affects the game world as the season progresses. When you jump into the game, you’ll notice two different alignments: Embrace the Light Side or Turn to the Dark Side. Your choices will shape both your Personal Alignment and contribute to the Community Alignment that affects all players.

What is Personal Alignment?
As you take on Light or Dark Side missions, your Personal Alignment steadily increases. There are 20 tiers for each path, and completing a batch of 10 quests gives you 10,000 XP. If you max out both alignments, that’s a total of 20,000 XP just from questing. Plus, doing five alignment quests in a week completes a weekly task that drops an additional 30,000 XP in your pocket.
What is Community Alignment?
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this season is how every player’s contributions affect the Community Alignment, which is called Galactic Alignment. As more players complete quests for either side, the percentages for Light and Dark will rise. When these percentages hit 100%, special effects will trigger that directly change the season’s gameplay. While we don’t know exactly what these effects will be yet, the icons suggest:
- Possible XP boosts.
- Changes to storm circles.
- Other gameplay modifications.
