All Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 Secret Cave Locations (Canyon Crossing and Brutal Boxcars)

The Star Wars-themed Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 “Galactic Battle” has arrived, bringing lightsabers, starships, Star Wars NPCs, Force powers, and new locations to explore. While many players are focusing on the obvious new POIs like Vader Samurai’s Solitude and First Order Base, there are some hidden gems worth your attention – secret caves packed with free loot chests that most players don’t know about yet.

I’ve found two secret cave locations that are perfect for grabbing some early-game loot without much competition. These spots aren’t marked on the map, making them excellent drop locations if you want to gear up before engaging in combat.

Secret Cave Near Brutal Boxcars

The first hidden cave is located southeast of Brutal Boxcars. This one requires a bit of effort, but the process is simple once you know what to do.

How to find and open the Secret Cave near Brutal Boxcars in Fortnite?

1. Land or travel to the southeast of Brutal Boxcars.
2. Look for a cliff area where you’ll spot an AT-AT walker.
3. Near the AT-AT, you’ll notice a ship.
4. On top of the ship, there’s a cannon pointing toward some rocks.
5. These rocks are actually blocking the entrance to a hidden cave.
6. Approach the cannon and you’ll get a prompt to “hotwire” it.
7. Press E to interact with the cannon.
8. The cannon will automatically fire at the rocks, breaking them and revealing the cave entrance.
9. Enter the cave to find your reward.

Inside this cave, you’ll find three common chests. While they’re not high-tier chests, having three guaranteed chests in a hidden location gives you a solid start to your match. The area isn’t very popular yet, so you can usually loot in peace.

Canyon Crossing Secret Cave

The second secret cave is located near Canyon Crossing and is even easier to access than the first one.

How to find and open the Canyon Crossing Cave in Fortnite?

1. Head toward Canyon Crossing.
2. The cave is located slightly southwest of the bridge.
3. Once you start moving towards southwest you will notice a ramp.
4. Just go down from there and use the zipline.
5. Unlike the first cave, this one doesn’t need special activation.
6. You can break into this cave using your pickaxe.
7. Simply hit the rocks blocking the entrance with your harvesting tool.

This cave is a bit more generous, containing four common chests. That’s a lot of guaranteed loot for one small area! Since it’s tucked away from major points of interest, you’re less likely to run into enemies while looting.

Using Cave Loot to Your Advantage

The early-game loot from these caves can set you up nicely for the rest of the match. Here’s how to make the most:

1. Land at one of these caves at the start of the match
2. Quickly gather all the chest loot
