Epic Games timed this release perfectly with Netflix’s final Squid Game season, so expect lots of hype around the launch date. These skins also work everywhere in Fortnite, not just in Creative mode. You can wear them in Battle Royale, Zero Build, Blitz Royale, and any other game mode you like.

How Fans Are Reacting

Unlike other collaborations, these Squid Game skins aren’t based on specific characters from the Netflix show. Instead, Epic Games created 12 different styles using the iconic outfits from the series. You’ll get the famous green tracksuits that contestants wear and the pink guard uniforms that everyone recognizes.

The community has mixed feelings about these skins. Many players are upset that Epic didn’t include actual characters from the show, like Gi-Hun or the Frontman. Instead, you get generic Fortnite characters wearing Squid Game outfits. Some fans on social media called it “the biggest fumble of all time” because they wanted real character skins.

Others said the skins look like “knockoffs of the actors” rather than the authentic characters everyone loves. But not everyone is disappointed. Some players are just happy to get any Squid Game content and think the guard outfits look pretty cool.

The collaboration isn’t just about skins, though. You’re also getting new Reload quests and POIs, plus special UEFN tools that let creators build custom Squid Game experiences. The game mode includes the famous “Red Light, Green Light” game and other challenges from the show.
