Get ready to step into the shoes of your favorite Marvel superheroes! From slashing bad guys as Wolverine to flying around as Iron Man, there’s a ton of upcoming Marvel games in the works. Here’s everything you need to know about the biggest superhero games heading your way in 2025 and beyond.

Upcoming Marvel Games

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra

  • Release Window: Early 2026
  • Developer: Skydance Media

One of the most exciting upcoming Marvel games takes us back in time to World War II. In Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, you’ll get to play as both Captain America and Black Panther (specifically Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather) as they fight to stop Hydra from rising to power. You’ll also be able to play as Gabriel Jones from the Howling Commandos, bringing a tactical edge to the team, and Nanali, the leader of Wakanda’s spy network, who adds stealth and precision to your roster.

The game is set in occupied Paris during WWII, and from what we’ve seen so far, the graphics look absolutely stunning. The story starts with Cap and Black Panther not exactly being friends, so watching their relationship develop should be interesting. Made by Skydance Media, this action game is expected to launch in early 2026.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion

  • Release Window: TBA 2025
  • Developer: Tribute Games Inc.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a retro-style game where you pick from 15 Marvel heroes to fight the Annihilation Wave, a big threat to the universe. The game uses classic comic book looks, which longtime fans will recognize and enjoy.

You can switch between two heroes during each level, which keeps the fights fun and gives you more ways to play. You can also play with friends in co-op mode. Plus, it’s available on multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, making it accessible to a wide audience.

Made by Tribute Games Inc., the same team behind other retro games, Marvel Cosmic Invasion is set to launch in 2025. If you like fast action and old-school Marvel character designs, this is one to watch.

Marvel’s Wolverine

  • Release Window: TBA
  • Developer: Insomniac Games

Fans have been waiting a long time for a new Wolverine game, but the wait is nearly over. Marvel’s Wolverine is being developed by Insomniac Games, the same studio that created the amazing Spider-Man games for PlayStation. While there’s not a lot of info about the gameplay yet, you can expect hard-hitting combat with Wolverine using his famous adamantium claws for fast and intense action.

The title will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, ensuring next-gen performance and visuals tailored for Sony’s console. Given Insomniac’s track record with Spider-Man, fans are extremely excited to see what they do with another Marvel hero. Some even think this game could eventually lead to a full X-Men game in the future.

Marvel’s Iron Man

  • Release Window: TBA
  • Developer: EA and Motive Studio

EA and Motive Studio are working together to create a single-player Iron Man game that lets you truly feel what it’s like to be the genius billionaire superhero. The game will be a third-person action-adventure with a brand-new story about Tony Stark. Players will get to fly in the Iron Man suit, using high-speed flight and tech-based combat that fits the hero perfectly.

This game moved into full production in February 2023. Many fans are hoping the flying feels just right, especially since the team at Motive worked on Star Wars Squadrons, which had solid flight gameplay.

EA’s Black Panther

  • Release Window: TBA (likely 2026)
  • Developer: EA and Cliffhanger Games

EA is also developing a standalone Black Panther game with their new studio, Cliffhanger Games. Rumors suggest this will be an open-world adventure where you might actually get to choose who becomes the next Black Panther. Potential playable characters could include:

  • T’Challa
  • Shuri
  • Erik Killmonger
  • M’Baku
  • Azari

The combat system is rumored to incorporate African martial arts, and the game might feature a choose-your-own-adventure style story where your decisions matter. While there’s no release date yet, it’s likely to be released beyond 2026.

Marvel’s Blade

  • Release Window: TBA (likely 2026)
  • Developer: Arkane Lyon

Arkane Lyon, the studio behind Dishonored and Deathloop, is creating Marvel’s Blade, which follows the daywalker as he hunts vampires through the streets of Paris. The game was announced at The Game Awards 2023.

So far, we know the game will be a third-person action-adventure and might include a morality system that affects the story and how characters react to you. It’s set during a supernatural crisis, giving it a dark and interesting vibe. Arkane Lyon is known for creative gameplay and strong world-building, so their take on Blade could be something really different and fun.

So those are all the upcoming Marvel games on the way. Which Marvel hero are you most excited to play as? The tactical Blade, the high-flying Iron Man, or maybe the berserker rage of Wolverine?
