How to Get Weapons in Death Stranding 2
Getting weapons in Death Stranding 2 is actually pretty simple. There are two main ways to do it. First, just keep on playing and following the story. As you go through the main missions, you will get new weapons when you need them. The game’s pretty good about giving you what you will need for what’s coming up next.
Second, you can make friends with the preppers. These are the NPCs (which might be your favorite celebrity cameos in the game!) who will share their stuff once they trust you. Help them out with deliveries and do what they ask, and then they will hook you up with better gear. Some of the best weapons are actually locked behind these relationships. So don’t skip those side jobs.
All Weapons in Death Stranding 2
For easier reading, we have divided the weapons and how to obtain them by category. We also added information about which weapons are best to use in each category:
Handguns and Pistols
Your handguns are the weapons you’ll use most. That Maser Handgun you start with is okay-ish for the beginning, but you’ll want something better pretty quickly. The SL Machine Pistol and Tranq Handgun are perfect when you need to stay quiet.

The assault rifles are your go-to weapons for most combat situations. The LW versions are lighter, which matters a lot since you’re always watching how much weight you’re carrying.
