Animal Hospital is one of those Roblox games that feels manageable at first, until your third shift hits and everything starts going sideways at once. Emergency events in the Animal Hospital are a whole different level of stress, and if you've ever watched a countdown timer hit zero while you had no idea what to do, this guide is going to help you.

What Are Emergency Events in Animal Hospital?

Starting from Shift 3, emergencies can appear at any point during your shift without warning. When one triggers, a notification pops up on the right side of your screen showing the emergency type and a countdown timer. The timers are visible through walls, which helps you figure out where to go and how long you have left. Miss the timer, and the patient dies.

There are currently seven timed emergencies in Animal Hospital, plus separate events like room fires and the Ambulance Event. Here's a quick overview of every single one before we break them down in detail.

All Emergency Events in Animal Hospital Explained

1. The Ambulance Event

The Ambulance Event is the biggest multi-emergency scenario in the game. It kicks off on Shift 5 or sometimes Shift 4, when Dr. Harlow announces that an anomaly attack hit the town and left multiple animals injured. He warns you that an ambulance is on the way, then walks straight into his office and leaves you to deal with everything yourself.

Six patients rush into the hospital all at once and take whatever rooms are open. Some arrive already on fire, and others show up in critical condition. The music shifts into something tense and stays that way until every single patient has been dealt with.

Completing your first Ambulance Event rewards you with bonus cash at the end of the shift. After that, ambulances arrive every five shifts, and each wave brings an increasing number of critical patients.

2. Room on Fire

Room fires aren't timed emergencies, but they're still a serious problem you can't ignore. Any room in Animal Hospital can randomly catch fire during a shift, even if no patient is inside at the time.

Standing too close to the flames causes you to lose 1 sanity per second, which stacks up fast. The most effective solution is to grab the fire extinguisher from the glass case near the check-in booth and use it on the fire. It's faster than using your hands and keeps your sanity loss to a minimum.

If a new patient walks into a burning room, they faint immediately. If that happens, get the patient onto their bed first to stop any incoming emergency timer, then deal with the fire.

3. Patient on Fire – 60 Seconds

A patient runs into the hospital completely on fire, panicking and screaming. You have 60 seconds to put the flames out.

The fire extinguisher item is the best tool here by far. It douses the fire quickly and automatically heals the patient's burn wounds, so no follow-up treatment is needed. If you use your hands instead, the fire does go out eventually, but the patient will have burn wounds that require ointment afterward. This treatment also has to be completed within the same 60-second window. That's extra pressure you don't need.

The fire extinguisher becomes available at the start of Shift 3 and can be found in the glass case near the check-in booth or to the right of the Supplies Shop. When the charge runs out, place it back in its original spot, and it will recharge to full automatically.

Some burning patients are actually anomalies in disguise, so don't drop your guard once the fire is handled.

4. Patient Fainted – 60 Seconds

Patients can faint in a few different ways: At the check-in window, after walking into a burning room, or after being shot. No matter how it happens, the fix is always the same. Pick them up and carry them to their designated bed before the 60 seconds run out.

Placing them on the correct bed stops the timer immediately, and you can treat them normally from there. Simple in theory, but if another emergency is already active when this one fires, the juggling act gets really stressful.

My tip is that you can throw the fainted patient in the trash. It sounds terrible, but it doesn't count as a death and skips the treatment process entirely with no penalty. It's not something you'd do every shift, but when you're completely overwhelmed, that option exists.

Just like with burning patients, fainting patients can also be anomalies, so stay alert even after you've placed them on the bed.

5. Death Ritual – 40 Seconds

This is one of the creepiest emergencies in the Animal Hospital. When a death ritual triggers in an occupied room, the first thing you notice is that the door takes longer to open than usual. Once you get inside, the lights are dim, the patient is floating above their bed, and seven ritual candles are placed around the room.

You have 40 seconds to break the ritual. There are three ways to do it:

  1. Remove all seven candles by walking up to each one and extinguishing it. Each candle costs you 1 to 3 sanity points, so clearing all seven by hand can hit your sanity hard late in a shift.
  2. Tase the patient. A taser breaks the ritual instantly. It's available for free at the start of Shift 3 from inside the Reception and recharges when placed back in its box.
  3. Use eyedrops, IV drops, or coffee on the candles. This is the best play when your sanity is already running low. These items extinguish the candles with zero sanity cost at all.

Once the ritual is broken, the lights come back on, and the patient drops safely back onto their bed.

6. Bed Monster – 30 Seconds

The Bed Monster comes with the shortest timer of any emergency in the game, just 30 seconds. The moment you see that notification, you move. The Bed Monster can appear in any room and occasionally grabs a patient, slowly pulling them underneath the bed. The cleanest fix is to equip maple syrup and walk into the red zone near the monster. Feed it the syrup, and it releases the patient and vanishes.

If you don't have maple syrup on you, you can try interacting with the patient while they're being dragged to help them break free. If the monster grabs you instead, rapidly pressing your interact button gives you a chance to escape.

The Bed Monster doesn't just target patients, either. It will also go after anomalies and players who get too close without protection, so don't stand near it without maple syrup ready.

7. Monster Emerging in Room 8 – 45 Seconds

This emergency only ever happens in Room 8, the surgery room. If a patient is recovering there, a purple monster can emerge from inside them and start causing damage. You have 45 seconds to complete the surgery mini-game. The steps are displayed on the blackboard behind the bed. Follow them in order and finish in time, and the monster disappears while the patient survives.

The single most important rule for this emergency: do not tase or shoot the purple monster. The monster is directly connected to the patient, so any damage you deal to it immediately kills the patient.

8. Critical Patient – 100 to 120 Seconds

Critical patients are the most demanding emergency in Animal Hospital. Unlike a fainted patient, where placing them on a bed stops the clock, a critical patient needs the full treatment process all within 100 to 120 seconds.

Emergency Events Animal Hospital

This emergency doesn't come up often on its own, but it shows up constantly during the Ambulance Event. When six patients flood the hospital at once and one or two of them are critical, your ability to prioritize becomes everything. Focus on the critical patient first if the timer is already running tight, and let the others wait a moment if needed.

Tips for Handling Multiple Emergencie Events at Animal Hospital

When two or more emergencies trigger at the same time, go by the shortest timer first. The Bed Monster at 30 seconds is always the most urgent. After that, tackle the Death Ritual at 40 seconds, then move to the 60-second emergencies.

Keep your fire extinguisher charged and maple syrup in your inventory before any later shift starts. These two items cover some of the fastest emergencies in the game, and not having them when you need them is how runs fall apart.

If you're approaching Shift 5 or beyond, having a taser ready before the Ambulance Event hits saves time on any death ritual that appears in the chaos. It's free, it recharges, and when you're already juggling six patients, you want rituals gone in one click. Good luck handling all the emergency events in Animal Hospital!
