Try All the New Features in iOS 18
Loaded with a host of new features, you’ll always wonder where to start. Of course, you’d be driven to try out the features Apple showed off at the World Wide Developer Conference 2024 in June. Initially, your iPhone may appear a bit slow since it’ll try to sync your iCloud data like photos, documents, videos, photo tags, emails, etc. After a day or two, it will work like it got a second wind. Besides taking several pages of inspiration from Android, you’ll finally get to customize the icons of your favorite apps. Also, you can spruce up the iPhone’s Home Screen to your heart’s content.
Besides the new features, do not miss out the hidden features in iOS 18 that are not easy to spot. From the new T9 Dialing to the new jazzed up Calculator app, there’s a lot to scour through. One of the most interesting feature updates in the Photos app and it’ll change how you use it to organize your photos. Following the speculated bug of deleted photos resurfacing, Apple grabbed the opportunity to offer recovery of corrupt photos on your iPhone.
The Photos app has become elaborate enough to offer you a new view under Utilities section that shows details of all your recent activities – Deleted, Viewed, Saved, Shared, Hidden, or Imports. Along with that, the Photos app will also show an album labeled “Recovered” to gather all the photos or videos that got corrupt or didn’t sync properly with iCloud.
Of course, you’ll get the option to permanently delete or restore those “Recovered” photos to your library. Also, you won’t see this album unless your Photos library suffers any database corruption.
