It’s been only a month since Apple unveiled iOS 18 and later iOS 18.1 which promises several AI features. Now, 9to5Mac is reporting that Apple is developing a dedicated gaming app (like App Store maybe) for iPhone and iPad users. Apple has been focussing more and more on mobile gaming for the past few years now.

Game App – One-Stop Hub for All Things Gaming
This new gaming app won’t replace the existing Game Center, but will rather integrate with it, offering a one-stop shop for all things gaming on iOS. Sounds interesting. Think of it like dedicated gaming app like Xbox for iPhone where you will find curated game recommendations, access your entire gaming library, connect with friends, and track achievements, and more. At least that seems to be the vision behind the development.
Features
- Play Now Tab: Discover new games curated by Apple, along with editorial content to help you find what you are looking for.
- Social Features: Stay connected with gamer friends, view their activities, and engage with them using FaceTime and iMessage (currently being explored).
- Challenges and Achievements: Put your skills to the test, track your progress, and climb the leaderboards.
- Mini-Games on the Horizon: Apple is rumored to be experimenting with App Clip-based mini-games but details are scarce at this point as to what exactly they are.
Launch Date
While details are scarce, the app could potentially arrive with a future iOS 18 update. If not, then no later then iOS 19 next year.
