Bernard the Butler needs your help putting his old manor back together, and it turns out he used to be a lot more than just a guy who dusts furniture. If you've wandered into Great Inagua and noticed an empty, sad-looking house begging for some decoration, this quest is what you need. Here's everything you need to know to finish Art Lover in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.

You can't just walk up and start the Art Lover side quest whenever you want in AC Black Flag Resynced. You first need to finish This Old Cove, a Sequence 4 main story mission. That's where you meet Bernard Woodhouse, the aging butler who used to work for the manor's previous owner, Lady Catherine Ann Summers, long before Du Casse ever showed up.
Once that mission wraps up, head to the water wheel just outside the manor in Great Inagua. Interact with Bernard near the garden door, and he'll ask you to track down30 pieces of art scattered across the Caribbean to fill up the empty manor. This is when the Art Lover side quest starts.

One thing worth remembering: Templar and character portraits don't count toward the Art Lover side quest in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, even though you can hang them in the manor, too. Don't waste time chasing those thinking they'll help you hit 30, unless you want to complete another mission or achieve the Dilettante Trophy.

Bernard doesn't make you wait until the very end to get something for your trouble. You'll get pulled back to the manor three separate times as you collect art for the Art Lover side quest, and each visit comes with its own reward.

Each time you hit a milestone, a new quest marker shows up at the manor in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced:
- The first check-in happens near the old shack behind the house, where you will find a letter called Bernard's Reply sitting on a table after the cutscene.
- The second check-in, at 25 pieces, takes you into the lounge near the fireplace, and this is where the Art Lover side quest story actually gets interesting.
- After your final handoff at 30 pieces, head to the basement to meet Bernard one last time. That's where the quest wraps up for good.
If you're playing through the main story in AC Black Flag Resynced naturally, you'll pick up a good chunk of these 30 pieces without even trying, since ship models alone can get you close to a third of the way there.
Art Lover side quest in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced isn't hard by any means, but it rewards you for actually exploring the Caribbean instead of rushing through the main story. Between the outfit, the ship set, and Bernard's surprisingly emotional backstory, it's one of my favorite side quests in the game.
