Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Blackbeard’s Treasure Walkthrough

Losing Blackbeard hits different in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. He's gone earlier than you'd expect, but before he goes, he leaves Edward one last gift tucked inside his hat. That gift turns into one of the most fun side quests in the whole game. You're going to be swimming through tunnels and blowing up walls before you get your hands on the reward. Here's everything you need to know to finish Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Blackbeard's Treasure without getting lost in the Caribbean.

First, the quest only unlocks after you finish the main story mission Do Not Go Gently. Once that mission wraps up, Edward finds Blackbeard's Treasure Map tucked in his hat, and the side quest Blackbeard's Treasure opens up on your map.

Unlike other treasure maps in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, this one doesn't give you exact coordinates. All it tells you is that the loot is somewhere north of Kingston, so you'll need to actually sail there and figure out the rest yourself.

Step 1: Sail to Anotto Bay

Blackbeard's treasure in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is buried in Anotto Bay, a small cove sitting north of Kingston in the Charlotte region, roughly around coordinates (591, 243) on your map. If this is your first trip to Anotto Bay, don't expect a peaceful sail in. Three enemy ships will try to stop you from docking, and since Charlotte is a Hard difficulty region, you want your Jackdaw ship upgraded before you show up.

Once you've cleared them out or visited the bay once already, you can fast travel there directly and skip the fight entirely, which is a nice shortcut if you're just backtracking for a chest you missed.

Step 2: Underwater Tunnels

After anchoring, swim to the small pirate camp on the shore. Go up the stairs to the hut and double-assassinate the two guards below. Next, look to your right and jump into the water (location shown below). Dive down, swim past the jellyfish, and enter the cave. This leads to the underwater tunnels in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.

Inside, you'll come to a fork. Take the right path first. Follow the wooden walkway to the end to find a chest with 1,000 Reales.

After collecting Blackbeard's treasure chest, go back to the fork and take the other path. Turn left, then right, until you reach a ladder beside two red jellyfish. Climb up to a small dry area with a single pirate. Defeat him, then dive back into the water at the end of the path. Keep going right until you find another ladder that leads into an underground cave.

Remember that during the journey underwater in Black Flag Resynced, if you're low on air, look for bubbles. You can swim up there to breathe before continuing.

Step 3: Clearing the Cave and Reaching the Treasure

In the next cave, two pirates are standing near a gunpowder barrel. Climb up and stay behind cover. The barrel will explode and take care of them.

Keep going until you find three more pirates near a blocked path in Black Flag Resynced. To clear the blocked path, pick up a red powder barrel and place it next to the rocks. Move back, then shoot the barrel with your pistol to blow the rocks apart.

Follow the new path through the tunnel and climb the wooden platforms. You'll reach a larger cave with several more pirates. Take out the closest one with an air assassination, then defeat the rest however you prefer.

When the area is clear, pick up another powder barrel and carry it up the hill near the waterfall. Place it against the rock wall and shoot it from a safe distance. This opens the hidden entrance to Blackbeard's treasure.

After the cutscene plays out, sail back to Great Inagua to trigger one more scene. Don't expect gold as your payout here. Instead, you get Blackbeard's Portrait, which you can check out in your collection back at the manor.

There's also a small cosmetic bonus. Completing this quest adds farmland to Great Inagua, making the island look busier and more lived in. You can't interact with the farms, but it's a nice visual touch that makes your home base feel more alive after everything you went through to get here.
