Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced is packed with more than just naval battles and pirate adventures. If you pay attention to the little things, they are hiding small details and historical nods scattered through the gameplay. Here are Assassin's Creed's Black Flag Resynced easter eggs you've probably missed.
1. The Jackdaw's Original Name Was El Dorado
Before it became Edward's iconic ship, the Jackdaw belonged to the Spanish. During the Stealing a Brig mission in the original Black Flag, you can take a second to check the nameplate before you take the wheel. It reads El Dorado, which basically means "the golden one."
In Resynced, once you fully upgrade the ship's hull, sails, and weapons, it actually picks up golden trim across its body. Since your first mate Adéwalé talks about the Jackdaw like it's practically its own floating town, a maxed-out Jackdaw kind of becomes a real city of gold. That's a nice little easter egg that most players never connect.
2. The Spanish Treasure Fleet Was Based on Real History
Early in the game, you'll find a nice little easter egg: when you raid a Spanish treasure fleet loaded with riches. Turns out this is based on the real 1715 Spanish Treasure Fleet, which was hauling gold from Havana when a hurricane wrecked eleven ships along Florida's coast.
That treasure would be worth around $400 million today, and salvage crews are still pulling coins and gold bars off those wrecks. Edward wasn't exaggerating when he assumed that the fleet was worth chasing.

3. Creepy Sounds at Punta Guarico
After you take over Punta Guarico, stand near the well and just wait. You'll start hearing faint voices, like prisoners trapped underground calling for help. It's subtle, easy to miss, and honestly kind of unsettling once you notice it. A fun, yet creepy easter egg.
This is an easter egg because the trapped prisoners have been there since the 2013 original, and Resynced carries it over untouched.
4. A Giant Squid Lurking Near the Atocha Wreck
Dive down near the captain's cabin at the Atocha shipwreck and stay underwater, inside the cabin, for a while.
Look out toward the small window and wait. Eventually, a giant squid shows up and attacks one of the game's massive white whales, one of the biggest creatures you'll find in the whole game. It's a rare sight, but worth the wait if you're curious. Another small but cool easter egg in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.
5. The Jackdaw Keeps a Bird-Naming Tradition Alive
Past Assassin's Creed heroes had bird-themed names, like Altaïr (Flying Eagle) and Haytham (Young Eagle). Edward breaks that pattern, but his ship doesn't. The Jackdaw is named after a real bird found in Wales; this one's more like a tradition than an easter egg.

6. Mancomb Seepgood Makes an Appearance in Nassau
The very first Assassin Contract you pick up in Nassau is called The Pirate Captain, and the target's name is Mancomb Seepgood. That name isn't random. It's a subtle easter egg, a direct nod to Mancomb Seepgood, the seasick pirate from the Monkey Island games.
7. Duncan Walpole's Corpse
In the early game, after you kill Duncan Walpole and take his outfit, stick around once the cutscene ends. Head over to the nearby bushes, and you'll find his corpse just lying there, stripped down completely naked since you walked off with his clothes.
