Sailing through the Caribbean in Assassin's Creed takes a lot of time, especially once you've unlocked more islands. Luckily, there are several ways to get around faster, whether you're sailing, using fast travel, or unlocking new locations. This guide explains every fast travel method in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced and how to use the viewpoints to save time while exploring the map.
How to Unlock Fast Travel in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced
Fast travel is not available right from the start. The game locks it behind story progress, and there is nothing you can do to get around that. You need to finish This Tyro Captain, which is the quest that closes out Sequence 3. Once that mission is done, fast travel turns on across the entire map.

If you're still in Sequence 1 or 2, fast travel won't be available yet. Just keep progressing through the main story, and it'll unlock automatically. In the meantime, it's still a good idea to synchronize viewpoints. They'll reveal more of the map and unlock fast travel locations that you can use later.

Fast Travel Methods in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced
Once fast travel is active, you get three different ways to use it. Each one works a bit differently, and all three have their place depending on where you are and what you need:
| Method | How to Use | Where You Land |
|---|---|---|
| Viewpoint | Sync the viewpoint, then select it on the map | Exact elevated or inland location |
| Named Location | Discover an area, then select it on the world map | The location's dock only |
| Jackdaw | Highlight your ship on the world map | Directly on board the Jackdaw |
Viewpoint Fast Travel
Viewpoints appear on the map as eagle icons. White means you have not touched them yet. Climb one and synchronize it, and the icon flips to yellow, which means it is now a valid fast travel point.

To use it, open the world map, highlight the yellow viewpoint, and hold Triangle/Y on the controller or Space on the keyboard. Since viewpoints are usually placed on high ground, they're a great option if you're trying to reach the middle of an island instead of landing near the coast and running the rest of the way.
There are 61 viewpoints total across the map, and the more you sync early, the more options you have later. More on this below.

Named Location Fast Travel
Any named location you have already discovered on the map can be used as a fast travel destination, even if you never climbed a viewpoint there. Zoom out on the world map, highlight the area, and use the same inputs as viewpoint travel.

The downside is that this always drops you at the dock. It is fine for most situations, but if you need to reach a specific spot further inside an island, a synced viewpoint will save you more running time.
Jackdaw Fast Travel
Your jackdaw ship actually has its own fast travel point on the map. It moves in real time with wherever your ship actually is, so you can always warp straight to it. This is a lifesaver when Edward has wandered deep inland or somewhere with no nearby dock. Two button presses and you are back at sea.

Fast Travel Quick Tips in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced
- Synchronize every viewpoint you come across. Even if you don't plan on returning anytime soon, unlocking it now will save you a lot of sailing later.
- Use the Jackdaw fast travel whenever you're far from your ship. It's an easy feature to forget, but it lets you get back on board instantly instead of running all the way to the nearest dock.
- Fast travel to named locations when visiting major cities like Kingston, Nassau, or Havana. Their docks are close to most shops to buy materials, missions, and important locations, so you'll spend less time running around once you arrive.
Getting all 61 viewpoints also contributes toward the overall completion percentage, so if you are going for full completion in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, you are going to need every single one of them anyway. Better to grab them as you explore than to hunt them down at the very end.
