This quest becomes available after you finish This Old Cove, a main story mission in Sequence 4. Once Edward takes over the Great Inagua manor from Julien du Casse, the butler Bernard Woodhouse introduces himself and gets things moving. After that conversation, Former Glories side quest appears in your Quest Log alongside two other quests, Art Lover and Damn Fine Gear (to get the Templar Armor).

Former Glories side quest has two main requirements:
- You restore all seven buildings around the hideout.
- You complete all three manor upgrades.
Once both are done, you track down Bernard for a short cutscene and collect your reward. It sounds easy, but between the Reales costs and the unlock order of some buildings, there's a clear path you'll want to follow.
How to Restore Seven Hideout Buildings
Each building costs Reales (the in-game currency) and gives you something useful in return. Head toward the dock area and look for pirates who need gold to get their businesses back up.

The total comes to 23,100 Reales for all first-tier restores of Former Glories. A few buildings have unlock conditions tied to others, so the order matters. The Tavern is the key building. Both the Brothel and Campfire require it to be done first.
The Treasure Dealer needs both the General Store and Tavern restored. And the Fisherman's Wharf requires the Harbourmaster and Tavern to be up. Start with the two cheap ones (Tavern and Harbourmaster I), and the rest will open up naturally.
The Harbourmaster and General Store also have Tier II and III upgrades available for 2,500 and 5,000 Reales, respectively. These unlock better Jackdaw ship upgrades and access to rare and legendary weapons in the store. It's worth prioritizing if you're upgrading the Jackdaw.
You don't have to do everything in one go. This Former Glories side quest stays active for as long as you need, so you can come back whenever you've stacked enough Reales.
How to Complete Manor Upgrades
The manor itself has three upgrades that unlock in sequence. Each one costs more than the last, but every upgrade adds a ship berth to Kenway's Fleet and improves the Protection Money Box, which is a passive income source that fills up with Reales while you play.

To access these, head inside the manor and look for the Manage Hideout table to the left of Edward's desk. That's where you'll find the upgrade menu. The Facade is the one to grab first because it's the cheapest and activates the Protection Money Box immediately, so you start earning passive income right away.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Former Glories Reward
Once all buildings are restored and all three manor upgrades are complete, a new side quest marker appears near the Guesthouse. Follow the green icon on your map to find Bernard Woodhouse. Walk up to the marker and interact with it to trigger a short cutscene. Woodhouse thanks Edward for what he's done for Great Inagua, and the side quest wraps up cleanly from there.
After finishing the Former Glories side quest, you receive the Edward the Legend outfit. This is a Legendary cosmetic that's said to represent Kenway in his later years as a pirate. It's purely for looks and won't change your stats, but it's one of the most striking outfits in the game. To put it on, open your Inventory and go to the Outfits tab.
