Attention Fold 6 and Flip 6 Users: Sound Assistant Loses Reverse Stereo

Samsung has released a new update for Sound Assistant for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 users. Sound Assistant is a module inside the popular customization app called Good Lock developed in-house by Samsung. Other Samsung smartphone models remain unaffected by this update.

Sound Assistant version 6.1.00.9 disables the Reverse Stereo feature on Fold 6 and Flip 6 models, which are Samsung’s latest and greatest foldables yet. If you were not using this feature but are curious, here’s what it does. Reverse Stereo would switch the left and right audio channels when your phone is connected to a headphone or TWS.

Here is what Samsung says about the feature being removed:

Due to changes in system sound processing methods, stable functionality cannot be guaranteed

Instead of removing the feature altogether, I wish they would make it work with Fold 6 and Flip 6 variants. Having said that, there is a possibility that the feature may be removed from other Galaxy smartphone models in the future.

You can still use the Sound Assistant feature on your Samsung phones though. The Sound Assistant module inside the Good Lock app will supercharge your sound and music listening experience. It does so by enhancing the audio-related features of the smartphone. You get over 100 levels of volume control, custom layouts, change the color of the volume panel, create vibration patterns, and more.
