Base upgrades in Be a Lucky Block unlock additional floors where you can place more brainrots. More brainrots means more passive money generation, which helps you afford speed upgrades and rebirths faster. However, base upgrades should not be your top priority early game. Here's how to upgrade your base in Be a Lucky Block and when you should invest in these upgrades.
How to Upgrade Your Base in Be a Lucky Block?
- Walk to your base area where you place your brainrots. Look for the banner in front of your base that says "Upgrade Base." This banner appears at the entrance to your base.
- Click the "Upgrade Base" banner to open the upgrade menu. The menu shows your current base level, the cost for the next upgrade, and what benefits the upgrade provides.
- Each base level has different upgrade costs. Early base upgrades cost relatively small amounts of cash, while higher-level upgrades become exponentially more expensive.
- Purchase the upgrade by clicking the upgrade button if you have enough money. The cash is deducted from your balance immediately, and your base expands to add new floors or storage capacity.
Each floor can hold a certain number of brainrots, so upgrading your base lets you place more units total. This directly increases your passive income since more brainrots generate more money per second.

Why Should You Upgrade Your Base?
Base upgrades are helpful but should not be your main priority. Your progression priority should be: speed first, rebirth second, and base upgrades last. This order maximizes your efficiency and progression speed. Speed upgrades unlock access to better NPC bases with rarer brainrots. Without speed, you can't reach the zones that drop high-value brainrots, so your base floors will be filled with low-tier Commons and Uncommons. It's better to have 3 Special rarity brainrots than 10 Common ones.
Rebirth gives permanent cash multipliers that make all future money generation faster. The cash multiplier from rebirthing helps you afford expensive speed upgrades and eventually base upgrades too. Rebirthing pays for itself quickly through the multiplier boost.
Base upgrades only make sense once you're consistently getting good brainrots from mid-to-late game bases. Wait until you can reach Vampire's Base, Pirate's Base, or higher zones before investing heavily in base upgrades. At that point, you'll be collecting Rare, Epic, and Legendary brainrots that actually benefit from having more placement slots. Upgrade your base when you notice you're running out of space for good brainrots. If you have 10 Epic or Legendary brainrots but only 8 slots, that's a good time to buy the next base level. Don't upgrade just because you can afford it. For more Be a Lucky Block progression guides, check out our Be a Lucky Block Wiki.
