According to stats, even the use of one hashtag can increase the engagement of a post to over 12%. For example, when you use a hashtag, your post will appear on the page for that hashtag as well as in the feed of people who are currently following that hashtag (even if they are not following you). So, if you want to reach out to more people and boost your followers, here are the best apps for Instagram hashtags for iOS & Android.

Top Apps to find Instagram Hashtags
1. Instagram
Instagram has a native search option to look for certain hashtags and find the number of posts. Moreover, when you’re posting any picture, you can always add hashtags and tap on the suggestions related to the keyword. You can include up to 30 hashtags on a post, and up to 10 hashtags on a Story. Although, most people on Instagram use not more than 3-4 hashtags per post. Or, there are tricks to hide hashtags on Instagram. Lastly, don’t use hashtags that are very long, as people hardly follow these hashtags.

2. Hashtagify
Best for generating hashtags with AI using images
If you’re not sure which hashtag to use in your pictures, use this app to generate hashtags automatically. Simply open the app, slide up to upload a picture from your gallery, give it a few moments, and the app will then show you related hashtags. If you’re thinking it’s a gimmick, I tried it with my bearded face and a coffee mug, and the app was able to predict it really well. So, if you don’t want to manually search for hashtags, this is a good way to save time.
The only downside is that you get 5 free predictions, after which you can either donate to use the app or wait for over 66 days to refill your tries. You can also check out the hashtag generator tool for the web.

3. HashTags for Instagram
Best for category wise hashtags
You simply want a good, categorized way of finding hashtags without any frills, you may find this app well suited. The app has a straightforward UI. You can find all the hashtag categories on the home screen. You can either scroll through hashtags like popular, nature, social, family, art & photography, food, etc or use the search bar to find relevant hashtags to your post. These hashtags also have subcategories, which you can copy with a tap and paste straight to your Instagram profile. The app is free and doesn’t contain any ads.

4. Tagify
Best for autogenerating hashtags using keywords
Unlike the previous app, this one lets you mix and match different hashtags by your post description. All you have to do is simply open the app, and describe your post with a maximum of six words. For example, if it’s a picture of your trekking, you can add keywords like travel, mountain, trek, dogs, etc. By doing so, you give a base to the app to generate hashtags related to the keywords. It pre-selects 30 related hashtags for you, but in case you’re not satisfied, you can easily browse for similar hashtags as well within the same tab. Besides that, the copy option works the same as the above app.

5. In Tags
Best for filtering hashtags according to number of posts
If you want to use hashtags that have less or moderate competition, the generator tab of this app has the exact search filter for you. You have to add six keywords (just like the previous one), although this has an extra slider where you can generate hashtags that only has a certain amount of posts. For example, you can set the slider at 0-30k which shows you hashtags that have posts between that limit. Moreover, you can find the number (posts) beside every hashtag in the search, so you can select only the ones you like. You must note that the search filter is accurate on high post numbers, so try filtering that category more.

6. Hashtag Inspector
Best to find Instagram Challenges
This app has the most polished UI on this list. Keeping the usual features aside, the app has a section dedicated to famous Instagram challenges, so you can use that hashtag and take part in the trend to trigger your follower growth. It also shows who started the challenge and renowned people who’ve taken part in it.
The app also comes with a $1.5/monthly premium version which gives you access to top hashtags and removes all ads(although I didn’t find any).

7. Hashtag Generator Tool (Web)
Best for automatically posting hashtag from PC
INSSIST is not a smartphone app, rather a chrome extension that gives you an easy way to post a video from a PC. It also has a hashtag generator which comes in handy as you don’t have to switch tabs again and again.
Once you upload any photo or video and reach the last step before you publish. You can see a Relevant Hashtag tab which automatically shows you hashtags that can go with the photo. There is a search option in case you want to use a hashtag for a specific keyword. You can also read more about how to post using INSSIST and other useful features.
Closing Remarks
If you want more followers there is no doubt that you’ll have to use more and more hashtags in your posts. If I’ve to suggest to you two apps that’ll help you find the right ones, the first one would be Hashtag Inspector, because it has a great UI and also shows relevant hashtags to your keyword. The other one is undoubtedly Hastagify for its amazing AI hashtag generation tool which I thought was a gimmick at first but really worked well.
