Borderlands 4 price has finally been confirmed, and it is not as bad as everyone thought it would be. After weeks of people arguing online, Gearbox said the game will cost $70 for the standard edition. That’s what most big games cost now, so no surprises there. You can buy different editions of the game, each of which gives you various items for your money. Let me break down everything about Borderlands 4, including all editions, their prices, and pre-order bonuses.

Borderlands 4 Price and Editions

Before we talk prices, you need to know why everyone was so worked up about it. Back in May, someone asked the Gearbox CEO, Randy Pitchford, if Borderlands 4 would cost $80. His answer? “If you’re a real fan, you’ll find a way to make it happen.” That didn’t go over well. People got upset because it sounded like he was saying “just deal with it” to fans who might not have $80 to spend on a game. He apologized later and tried to explain, but the damage was done.

The whole thing got people talking about whether games should cost $80. Turns out, Borderlands 4 ended up costing $70 anyway, so all that drama was for nothing. Now, here is the list of all Borderlands 4 editions and prices:

1. Standard Edition ($70)

The basic version for Borderlands 4 costs $70, and you will get the full game. That’s it. No extra stuff, no bonus content, just Borderlands 4. However, if you pre-order, you do get one small Gilded Glory pack containing:

  • Vault Hunter Skin x1
  • Weapon Skin x1
  • ECHO-4 Drone Skin x1

This version is perfect if you just want to play the game and don’t really want extra content. You’ll get the whole story and everything that makes Borderlands fun.

2. Deluxe Edition ($100)

Pay $100 and you get the regular game plus a bunch of extra stuff. This is where it gets more interesting. Borderlands 4 Deluxe Edition will include:

  • The full game
  • Vault Hunter Skin x1
  • Weapon Skin x1
  • ECHO-4 Drone Skin x1
  • Firehawk’s Fury Weapon Skin x1
  • Bounty Pack Bundle:
    • New areas x4
    • New bosses x4
    • Vault Cards x4
    • Guns and fear
    • New Vault Hunter cosmetics
    • New cars with custom cosmetics x4

The Vault Cards work like they did in Borderlands 3. You do challenges, earn points, and unlock cool rewards with this.

3. Super Deluxe Edition ($130)

This is the most expensive one at $130. It has everything from the Deluxe version plus even more content. This is for people who want absolutely everything from the game. Here is the list of what’s included inside the Super Deluxe edition:

  • The full game
  • Vault Hunter Skin x1
  • Weapon Skin x1
  • ECHO-4 Drone Skin x1
  • Firehawk’s Fury Weapon Skin x1
  • Bounty Pack Bundle:
    • New areas x4
    • New bosses x4
    • Vault Cards x4
    • Guns and fear
    • New Vault Hunter cosmetics
    • New cars with custom cosmetics x4
  • Ornate Order Pack:
    • Vault Hunter Skins x4
    • Vault Hunter Heads x4
    • Vault Hunter Bodies x4
  • Vault Hunter Pack***:
    • New playable Vault Hunters x2
    • New Story Packs x2
    • New map regions x2
    • New gear and weapons
    • New Vault Hunter cosmetics
    • New ECHO-4 cosmetics

The new character pack is basically like getting two small expansions. New characters to play as, new places to go, and new stories to experience. If you play Borderlands games for months, this might be worth it.

Borderlands 4 Release Date

Good news, guys! The game comes out earlier than planned. Instead of September 23rd, you can play it on September 12th, 2025. That’s almost two weeks sooner. You can get it on:

  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X/S
  • PC (Steam or Epic Games)
  • Nintendo Switch 2 (but this comes out later)

If you like having the actual game disc, Amazon is taking orders for PlayStation 5 and Xbox versions. Right now, they only have the $70 Standard and the $130 Super Deluxe edition. There’s also an art book coming out for $55 if you like to have collectible items. It’s got 224 pages of game art and development.

After all the online drama, Borderlands 4 costs what most big games cost, $70. That’s pretty normal these days, even if it’s more than games used to be. You can pre-order now if you want to play on September 12. But there’s no rush unless you really want those bonus skins!
