The New Pirate Ship Update Features
When the event started, players got treated to a whole cutscene. Sammy was digging around and found a treasure chest. But before anyone could see what was inside, a pirate showed up and literally kicked Sammy into the sea. The pirates took over completely.
After the cutscene ends, a gigantic pirate ship appears in the sky. This thing circles around the entire map and shoots cannonballs at players. The cannonballs don’t kill you or anything, but they do knock you around while you’re trying to break lucky blocks, so it’s pretty chaotic. Surprisingly, the pirate ship is directly connected to the new Hex trait that came with the update.
How to Get the Hex Trait in Break a Lucky Block
The pirate update introduced a brand new trait called Hex. It has a 6x income multiplier, which is as strong as the lighting trait. This trait will also be added to the Break a Lucky Block hourly event. During the admin abuse event, you have a 10% chance to get the Hex trait when fusing items, too.

Method 1: Pirate Ship Event
The Hex trait appears during the pirate event in Break a Lucky Block. While the pirate ship is active, lucky blocks that spawn have a chance to get the Hex trait. To find them, you just need to see the green skull icon on top of the blocks. If you see one, break it as soon as possible.
During the admin abuse event, Sammy even spawned way more valuable lucky blocks, such as Mythic Hex, God Hex, and Rainbow Hex lucky blocks. These are the ones you want to focus more on breaking. The rarer the lucky block tier, the better your chances of getting a high-value Hex trait brainrot from it.
Method 2: Using the Pirate Spin Wheel
The pirate spin wheel is a special feature that shows up during the pirate update. It works like other wheels in the game, where you can spin for rewards. When you access the pirate wheel, you have a chance to get:
- Hex Lucky Blocks (0.5% chance)
- Cutlass, which is a pirate gear
- Luck bonuses

The biggest mistake players make is breaking lucky blocks with their pickaxes the moment they spawn. During the pirate event, try not to break pirate lucky blocks immediately when they appear. Wait for them to collect multiple traits, then break them when they have Hex plus 3-4 other traits. This patience can be the difference between getting a 100,000 value item versus a 1 million or more value item.
