Seed Collector is not the only machine in Build a Ring Farm, there is another one that is a bit more complex, called Compost Machine. The Compost Machine is one of the better ways to turn seeds you are not using into genuinely valuable items. It is not immediately accessible to new players, but once you unlock it and understand how the tiers work, it becomes a regular part of how you progress. Here is everything you need to know about how the compost machine/Composter works in Build a Ring Farm.

Where to Find the Compost Machine in Build a Ring Farm

The Compost Machine, also called the Composter, sits on the second and third floors of your farm. You will not have access to it from the start since reaching those floors requires spending cash on farm expansions first. Unlocking more farm floors should be one of your early priorities for this reason alone.

One important detail worth knowing before you start using it heavily: the third floor version of the Composter gives you a better chance at rarer rewards than the second floor version. It is worth holding off on submitting your more valuable seeds until you have access to the third floor machine rather than burning them on the lower one.

How to Use the Compost Machine in Build a Ring Farm?

Using it is straightforward once you have access:

  1. Walk up to the Compost Machine and hold E to interact
  2. Press the Add Plants button and select the seeds you want to submit
  3. The machine tracks the total cash value of everything you deposit
  4. Once you hit the threshold for a tier, press Pull Lever
  5. The machine rolls three reward options and you choose one

The Overgrown Compost tier works differently from the others in that your reward chances are not fixed percentages.

The biggest mistake players make is dumping their best seeds into the machine before unlocking the third floor. Save those seeds and focus on farm expansions first. Once you have the third-floor Composter available, you will get better odds on rare pulls, meaningfully compared to the second-floor version. For more guides check out our Build a Ring Farm wiki.
