Are you a math nerd? ChatGPT is so much better at solving math problems now than ever before but you know what is better than solving math problems? Playing math games and puzzles in ChatGPT. Here are some math games I enjoyed playing with ChatGPT. I have also included prompts we used to generate these math games in chatGPT.
Table of Contents
1. Math Riddles, Puzzles, and Quiz
ChatGPT is excellent at generating a range of math riddles and quizzes that will test your arithmetic and algebra skills. You can also ask ChatGPT to create math puzzles that require logical thinking. You can also generate trivia questions on various math concepts and mathematicians.
When stuck on a question, we even requested multiple-choice questions to make it more interactive and engaging. Regardless of the style, ChatGPT consistently generated accurate results with questions tailored to our requests.
You can start a math trivia session with a simple prompt like, “,” or “.”
Let's start a math quiz
For a more customized experience, be specific and mention the exact math concept you’d like to play around.
Provide me with a series of math puzzles to solve, one after another. Include questions on Algebra, Logarithms, and Probability.
2. Sudoku
Playing Sudoku on ChatGPT is harder than on paper and online because ChatGPT-generated tables lack proper borders. They are not visually appealing. You need to scroll to view the entire table.
I was expecting the table created by ChatGPT wouldn’t work well for Sudoku. However, it calculated the math correctly and generated solvable tables. The best part of using ChatGPT to play Sudoku is that I can ask for hints if I get stuck. Use this prompt to start playing Sudoku on ChatGPT.
Create a 9X9 Sudoku puzzle for me to solve.
3. Number Guessing Game
This is a simple math game where you must guess the number ChatGPT is thinking of. You can ask up to 10 questions, like ‘Is it higher or lower than a given number?’ to find the correct number. Get creative with your questions, like ‘Is it an even number?’ or ‘is it a prime number’ or ‘is it divisible by 2’.
Here’s the prompt you can use to start playing the number-guessing game.
Let’s play a number guessing game! Think of a number between 1 and 100, and I’ll try to guess it by asking questions like 'Is it higher than?' or 'Is it lower than?'I can ask only 10 questions. Let's begin!
You can flip the table and ask ChatGPT to guess the number you are thinking.
I’ve picked a number between 1 and 100. Try to guess it by asking questions like 'Is it higher than?' or 'Is it lower than?' You have only 10 questions. Let’s begin!
4. Prime Number Hunt
In this ChatGPT math game, you will get a random number within a specified range. You have to determine whether it is a prime number. Then, ChatGPT will confirm if your answer is correct or incorrect. It’s a great way to test your knowledge of prime numbers and practice divisibility rules. You can use a prompt like:
Give me a random number between 1 and 100, and I will tell you if it’s prime or not. Then, confirm my answer.
You can change the range in the prompt according to your preference.
5. 24 Game
ChatGPT will give you 4 numbers. You can use add, subtract, multiply, and divide to reach 24 numbers. Playing for the first time? ChatGPT will also explain the rules. You can only use each number once. ChatGPT understands this math game perfectly. The command is super simple too.
Let's play 24 game
6. Mathematical Bingo
How about we turn a traditional game into a math-focused challenge with ChatGPT’s help? Take some random numbers on a card or use a bingo card if you have one. Now ask ChatGPT to generate math problems to pick numbers. Instead of saying 16, ChatGPT will create a math question like 32/2. You can increase the questions’ complexity or ask ChatGPT to ask questions related to math concepts.
This is not a 1-on-1 game either. You can play this math game with ChatGPT with your friends too where multiple people are trying to solve math and win.
Here is the prompt to begin playing Mathematical Bingo with ChatGPT.
Let’s play Mathematical Bingo! I have a bingo card filled with random numbers. Instead of calling out numbers directly, generate math problems whose answers match the numbers on my card. Focus on specific math concepts like algebra, fractions, or geometry. Ask one question and proceed to the next one when I prompt.
These are the games we have tested that worked flawlessly on ChatGPT. I also tried some board games on ChatGPT and the results were pretty interesting and fun.
