Corrupted Items are powerful tools in 99 Nights in the Forest that were added on January 31, 2026 with the Hard Mode and Corruption System update. These items have better stats than normal equipment but come with the downside of corruption buildup. This guide covers all Corrupted Items in 99 Nights in the Forest and how to get them.

All Corrupted Items in 99 Nights in the Forest

There are five Corrupted Items you can find in 99 Nights in the Forest:

ItemTypeWhat It Does
Corrupted AxeToolChops trees really fast.
Corrupted Thrown AxeWeaponSmall axes you can throw unlimited times.
Corrupted RevolverWeaponPurple revolver that needs ammo.
Corrupted ShotgunWeaponOld shotgun covered in purple roots. Does lots of damage up close, especially in rift zones.
Corrupted ArmourArmorRusty armor with purple color. Makes you harder to kill but increases your corruption faster.

All these items look different from normal tools – they have purple roots and a corrupted look to them.

How to Get Corrupted Items

Getting Corrupted Items takes a few steps. Here’s what you need to do:

Step 1: Activate Hard Mode

Hard Mode doesn’t start by itself. From Day 1, start chopping trees to get wood. Use the wood to upgrade your campsite to Level 2. This unlocks the Research Outpost near your base. Go to the Research Outpost and enter the basement through the vault doors. Inside, you’ll see levers on the wall with different Roblox usernames. Find the lever with YOUR username and pull it before Day 3 ends. When Day 3 starts, a cutscene plays and Hard Mode turns on. The Corruption System is now active across the map.

Step 2: Upgrade Your Campsite

Keep upgrading your campsite to higher levels. This opens up more of the map, which means more chances to find Corrupted Chests.

Step 3: Find Corrupted Chests

Once Hard Mode is active, Corrupted Chests start spawning around the map. These chests are easy to spot – they’re big rusted boxes floating in the air with purple roots wrapped around them. Corrupted Chests usually spawn near Rifts, mutated trees, and corrupted animals. Each chest can only be opened once per run, so explore the whole map to find multiple chests.

That’s all you need to know about how to get every corrupted item in 99 Nights in the Forest.
