What Is Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core?
Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core is a roguelite spin-off set in the Deep Rock Galactic universe.
Players join the Reclaimers, an elite security team sent into the deepest unexplored parts of Hoxxes after a mysterious event known as “The Grayout” cuts off all mining operations across the planet.
Unlike the original game, Rogue Core introduces a stronger roguelite structure where players begin each mission with minimal equipment and gradually build stronger loadouts during the run itself.
What Makes Rogue Core Different?
The roguelite system changes how progression works compared to the original Deep Rock Galactic.
Players will:
- scavenge weapons during missions
- unlock upgrades mid-run
- experiment with build combinations
- craft enhancements using Expenite
- adapt to procedurally generated cave systems
The game also introduces:
- Reclaimer Gauntlets
- new enemy types
- deeper underground environments
- more aggressive alien threats called Core Spawn
No two runs are designed to play out the same way.
Solo and Co-op Gameplay
The game supports:
- solo play
- online co-op
- four-player squads
Teamwork once again plays a huge role during missions as players fight through dangerous cave systems while collecting resources and surviving increasingly difficult enemy waves.
Players who prefer playing alone can also tackle missions solo.
Early Access Explained
Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core launches as an Early Access title, meaning development will continue after launch with player feedback helping shape future updates.
Players should expect:
- ongoing balancing updates
- new features and systems
- additional content over time
- possible bugs and unfinished mechanics
Ghost Ship Games has already built a strong reputation for community-focused support with the original Deep Rock Galactic, which has many fans optimistic about Rogue Core’s Early Access future.
