Xbox’s Summer Showcase is always one of the biggest gaming events of the year, but this year’s presentation feels especially important.
Not only is Xbox celebrating its 25th anniversary, but this will also be the first major showcase since Asha Sharma took over leadership of the brand. Sharma has repeatedly talked about reconnecting with longtime Xbox fans and returning to some of the values that helped build Xbox in the first place.
That means this showcase isn’t just about new games. It could also give us our clearest look yet at Xbox’s plans for the next 12 months.
The main Xbox Summer Showcase begins at 1:00 PM EST.
Immediately following the presentation, Xbox will host a dedicated Gears of War: E-Day Direct, where developers are expected to share more gameplay details and potentially reveal a release date.

Xbox is streaming the showcase across multiple platforms, making it easy to watch wherever you prefer.
You can tune in through:
The Gears of War: E-Day Direct will follow immediately after the main showcase on these same platforms.
While Xbox hasn’t confirmed most of the lineup, these are the games and franchises I think have a strong chance of appearing during the presentation.
| Game / Franchise | What We Could See |
|---|---|
| Gears of War: E-Day | New gameplay footage, story details, and potentially a release date. This is the only game officially confirmed. |
| Fable | A new trailer and possibly a launch window following its recent delay. |
| Halo: Combat Evolved | More details about Xbox’s recently announced Halo project. |
| Clockwork Revolution | Fresh gameplay footage and hopefully a release window. |
| State of Decay 3 | A long-awaited return after years of silence. |
| Rare’s Future | Xbox may finally reveal what’s next for Rare. |
| Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 | Another look at this year’s Call of Duty entry. |
| Fallout 3 Remaster | One of the biggest rumors surrounding the showcase. |
| Marvel’s Blade | Bethesda and Arkane could provide another update on the project. |
| Blizzard Projects | Potential announcements and future plans from Blizzard. |
| Spyro (Rumored) | A possible reveal from Toys for Bob. |
| Surprise Reveals | Xbox usually saves a few unexpected announcements for the show. |
Personally, the games I’m most interested in are Gears of War: E-Day, Fable, and the rumored Fallout 3 Remaster. If Xbox manages to deliver all three in the same showcase, it could easily become one of the strongest Xbox events in years.
Not every Xbox rumor will become reality.
Xbox has already indicated that this event won’t focus on new hardware, which means we probably won’t hear anything significant about Project Helix or the company’s next console plans.
I’m also not expecting:
Xbox appears focused on games arriving in the near future rather than projects that are still many years away.
This year’s Xbox Summer Showcase feels bigger than most.
The combination of Xbox’s 25th anniversary, a new CEO, and a packed lineup of upcoming games creates a lot of excitement heading into the event. Between Gears of War: E-Day, Fable, Halo, Clockwork Revolution, and the possibility of surprises from Bethesda, there’s no shortage of reasons to tune in.
Personally, the thing I’m most interested in is seeing what direction Asha Sharma wants to take Xbox. New game trailers are always exciting, but this showcase feels like it could define the next chapter of the brand.
If Xbox wants to convince longtime fans that its best days are still ahead, this is the stage to do it.
