Share Content With Circle to Search

Google just dropped a much-needed feature for Circle to Search users on Android phones. You can now crop and share images on Circle to Search. Let’s say you found a couple of shoes on display on the internet. You take a screenshot to find out more about the red one. But Circle to Search gets confused because there are 3-4 shoes in the image. You can now crop the image to remove unwanted objects making it easier for Circle to Search to find what you are looking for.

Not only that, you can also share that image with someone using the Share button that appears right above the cropped image.

Here is how it works:

  1. First, tap and hold the home button to activate the Circle to Search feature.
  2. Then, use the lasso tool to select the entire screen or a part of it to find what you need.
  3. To remove unwanted objects, drag the corners of the highlighted portion to crop the image – just like any other image editor. As you crop the image, Circle to Search will automatically update results in real-time.
  4. You’ll also see a new Share button right above the image.
  5. Tap it and select the app you want to share the image with, including third-party messaging apps.

This lets you find details about the object you want to know about without any hassle. No need to save the image in the Gallery app and then use the crop feature. You can crop and share directly from the Circle to Search screen.

Pixel owners don’t have to worry about it since they rely on the new Screenshots app.

I find this super convenient. Earlier, I had to crop screenshots in a different app or screen before sharing which was a hassle. Now, I can directly pick a part of the screen and share it without saving anything on my phone – no more fiddling with cropping tools.

Overall, this update is a nice addition to the Circle to Search feature. And if you already have a recent Google Pixel or Samsung Galaxy device, you may already have this feature. Ensure your Google app is up to date. For those just starting out, here’s how to use Circle to Search.
