The first official trailer for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has finally dropped, teasing the beginning of the end for the blockbuster anime series. In just under two minutes, it offers intense glimpses of the high-stakes battles ahead. The Hashira are seen entering Muzan’s Infinity Castle, with early matchups already sending the fandom into a frenzy.

One of the most gripping scenes shows Insect Hashira Shinobu Kocho fighting Upper Rank Two Doma, the demon who killed her sister. Meanwhile, Zenitsu stands alone, facing an opponent whose face remains hidden, likely Kaigaku, his former senior and the new Upper Rank Six. But the trailer’s main highlight is the long-awaited confrontation between Tanjiro Kamado and Akaza, the powerful Upper Rank Three demon responsible for the death of Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku.

The Legacy Continues After Mugen Train

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is the first full theatrical follow-up to Mugen Train, the 2020 blockbuster film that grossed over $507 million worldwide. Not only did it become the highest-grossing anime and Japanese film of all time, it also proved that anime films have the potential to dominate the global box office. Five years later, Infinity Castle picks up that legacy and raises the stakes.

The new film adapts the manga’s Infinity Castle arc, where Tanjiro, Nezuko, and the remaining Hashira are drawn into a multi-layered, shifting fortress, home to Muzan Kibutsuji and the remaining Upper Rank demons. The battle for humanity’s future begins here, with the Demon Slayer Corps caught in a trap from which few will escape unscathed.

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures will distribute the film globally, excluding Japan and select Asian markets. It will release in over 100 countries, making it one of the widest theatrical rollouts for an anime film to date. No official streaming release has been confirmed, but Crunchyroll is expected to add the trilogy to its platform following the films’ theatrical runs.

The Infinity Castle is a surreal, multi-dimensional stronghold where Muzan makes his final stand. Each Hashira is separated into different battle zones, facing powerful Upper Moons in life-or-death fights. As Shinobu fights Doma and Zenitsu faces Kaigaku, Tanjiro closes in on Akaza to avenge Rengoku. Meanwhile, Nezuko’s mysterious transformation continues to unfold, adding urgency to the final battle against Muzan.

While this first film will only adapt part of the arc, two sequels are already planned. Whether the final chapters of the manga, which extend beyond the Infinity Castle arc, will be adapted into a fourth movie or a final season remains unclear.
