All Weather Conditions in Demonology

In Demonology, Weather Conditions are a game mechanic that can randomly appear, affecting certain gameplay elements and evidence gathering, making ghost hunts more challenging.

Weather Conditions have a 10% chance of occurring on any difficulty and on any map. This means you never know when one will appear. The best thing to do is understand how each condition works and be prepared before it affects your investigation.

Currently, the following Weather Conditions can occur in Demonology:

  • Rainy Weather
  • Snowy Weather

Rainy Weather

The first weather condition is Rain. Besides adding a more creepy atmosphere, it causes rain droplets to appear on your screen whenever you are outside. The sound of falling rain can also be heard outdoors and faintly from inside buildings.

Rain does more than just change the mood. It also disables the Energy Monitor and outdoor Video Cameras, making it harder to identify ghost activity. In addition, the ambient temperature is reduced to half of its normal value.

Fire-based equipment, such as Lighters and Lanterns, also become unusable while you are standing in the rain. However, they can still be used indoors. Here are some tips for dealing with rainy weather:

  • Use the Energy Watch to track your remaining energy instead of relying on the Energy Monitor.
  • Forget about outdoor Summoning Circles, as they cannot be used because the rain will extinguish the fire. Instead, look for other opportunities to do the ghost hunt with Cursed Objects, like the Umbra Board or Music Box, for example.
  • Always account for the lower ambient temperature when identifying ghosts, as it can affect temperature-based evidence.

Snowy Weather

Snowy weather, complete with snowmen around the house, does not always bring joy. In Demonology, it can seriously interfere with your investigation. Snow causes the ambient temperature to remain consistently low, usually between 2°C and 5°C.

This makes finding the ghost room much more difficult. Normally, ghosts lower the temperature of their room, but since every room is already relatively cold, you will need to rely on other methods to locate the ghost room. Keep in mind that snowy weather does not lower ambient temperatures below 0°C or 32°F. So if a room drops below freezing, that is still considered valid ghost evidence.

While snow does not disable equipment like rain does, it significantly increases the difficulty of gathering evidence. As a result, you will need to be extra careful and thorough when identifying the ghost you are tracking.
