Every Alien: Earth Xenomorph and Creature - Ranked

Alien: Earth doesn’t mess around, putting you into the horror right away. From the iconic Xenomorph to creepy new species you’d rather not remember, the series confirms the franchise’s skills at keeping you up at night.

Whether they’re bursting out of chests, burrowing into eyes, or hanging like flesh-hungry chandeliers, each creature is a perfect mix of horror and biology gone wild. Here are all of the Xenomorph and alien horrors of Alien: Earth, listed in order of their pure terror value.

We’ve ranked them from least to most terrifying, so prepare to count down to the absolute nightmare.

8. T. Ocellus

  • Skills/Abilities: Tentacle eye-worming, brain control, problem-solving intelligence
  • Hunter/Bearer: Neural parasite
  • Appears in: Alien: Earth

This eight-legged abomination enters by drilling into a cat’s eyeball and reanimating it. Its smooth scolex is covered in irises, each connected to retractable tentacles. Once inside, it hijacks your ocular pathways and nervous system entirely.

After it has taken control, you’re no longer you. Alien: Earth hints at near-human intelligence in these parasites, making them not only gross but strategic. Viewing them in action is peak body-horror discomfort.

7. Ticks

  • Skills/Abilities: Blood-draining, vein targeting, rapid engorgement
  • Hunter/Bearer: Hemoparasite
  • Appears in: Alien: Earth

They start small, burrowing into a dead rat in the Maginot’s laboratory, but quickly make it apparent they’re something greater than background pests. In a moment of dire horror, they crawl onto restrained soldiers, draining them dry until they balloon grotesquely.

Ticks are a great reminder that in Alien: Earth, the bad guy isn’t always the biggest. These tiny terrors make blood their buffet, and the show makes sure you see every second of it.

6. Plant Pods

  • Skills/Abilities: Tentacle stamen extension, environmental awareness, possible predation
  • Hunter/Bearer: Likely ambush predator; possibly hybrid flora-fauna
  • Appears in: Alien: Earth

At first glance, it’s just an alien bloom hanging from Maginot’s ceiling. But when the petals unfold and a stamen in the shape of a tentacle shoots out to grab its victim, you’d know that this “flora” might be hungry. It even seems to detect movement around it.

Whether it’s an animal disguised as a plant or even a hybrid creature, the Plant Pod’s slow, deliberate opening sequence is one of the most disturbing reveals of the first half of the episode.

5. Flies

  • Skills/Abilities: Flight, unknown offensive capabilities
  • Hunter/Bearer: Likely scavenger or swarm predator
  • Appears in: Alien: Earth

We’ve only seen them so far, but the very idea of flying xenomorph-like creatures should creep you out. The fact that they’re locked up in the Maginot research facility implies that someone thought they were dangerous enough to lock away.

Winged predators are terrible enough in our world; in the Alien world, they’re a recipe for catastrophe. Let’s hope they never get out… but you know they probably will.

4. Scorpion Xenomorph (Possible)

  • Skills/Abilities: Venomous stinger, paralyzing strike, enhanced agility
  • Hunter/Bearer: Apex predator variant
  • Appears in: Teased in Alien: Earth trailer

The trailer cuts to what appears to be a normal scorpion, or perhaps it is the infamous Scorpion Xenomorph variant. Known in lore for its red coloring and poisonous sting, this breed would add venom to the Xenomorph’s already deadly arsenal.

If it makes an appearance in the series, imagine the fear of a creature that can immobilize you before the inner jaw has even a chance of being used.

3. Facehugger

  • Skills/Abilities: Host implantation, paralysis grip, heat, and sound tracking
  • Hunter/Bearer: Reproductive stage of the Xenomorph
  • Appears in: Alien franchise, Alien: Earth

The spider-like nightmare you’ve known since 1979 returns with a new twist in Alien: Earth. They’re not beige or yellow here, though. In Alien: Earth, Facehuggers appear with a striking red-pink coloration, possibly due to environmental adaptation or genetic drift. They still sense hosts by heat and sound, so you’ll never hear them coming until it’s too late.

Watching one hatch from an egg to attack a victim in the series is a masterclass in tension. With Alien: Earth, the new look of the Facehuggers isn’t just cosmetic but rather renders them in some way even more disturbing.

2. Teioelis

  • Skills/Abilities: Tentacle grip, ocular takeover, brain hijacking
  • Hunter/Bearer: Parasitic controller
  • Appears in: Alien: Earth trailer

Appearing innocently enough, Teioelis is the deranged relative of T. Ocellus. Its tentacles grab onto the victim’s eye socket and take control of their brain.

The trailer hints at its power and control capacities, which make it a new source of body horror within the series. Don’t be fooled by its almost “cute” design. When you’re strapped into Teioelis, you’re nothing more than a puppet.

1. Xenomorph

  • Skills/Abilities: Acidic blood, inner jaw attack, rapid growth, stealth hunting
  • Hunter/Bearer: Apex predator and parasitoid host killer
  • Appears in: Alien (1979) and throughout Alien: Earth

The iconic terror you’ve met before returns deadlier than ever. Ridley Scott’s 1979 horror film nightmare fuel returns more deadly than ever in Alien: Earth. Its life cycle, egg, Facehugger, Chestburster, and adult Drone, is as frightening as it was the first time you ever laid eyes on it. And, yes, that second jaw is back, just waiting to punch its way through bone like wet paper.

These Xenomorphs in the new Alien: Earth series blend frighteningly well into Earth’s urban landscape. They hunt prey through the skyscrapers and destroyed ships with the same unnerving accuracy, showing that the “perfect organism” has no difficulty turning your planet into its hunting ground.

If you thought Alien: Earth was going to play it safe, forget it. This roster of horrors proves that the franchise is doubling down on horrific creature design and respecting the franchise’s legacy. From old familiar favorites to completely new additions, each of these aliens has earned its place in the pantheon of Alien terror.
