It’s official! The Fantastic Four are joining Marvel Rivals and the trailer will launch on January 6th, 2025, at 8:00 AM PT. Those following Marvel Rivals and TechWiser won’t be surprised because you probably saw this coming from all the recent leaks we covered. Get ready to see Marvel’s First Family in action.

Marvel Rivals Fantastic Four Character Designs

The announcement art posted by Marvel Rivals’ official X account really caught our eyes. It’s the Fantastic Four in their classic signature look, with white and blue uniforms, plus the iconic “4” logo we all know and love. But what really got us excited were also the little details NetEase added for fans, like HERBIE, their trusty robot, and the Fantasticar.

Still, something in that artwork feels like a subtle tease, something you might miss if you don’t look closely. It has got us wondering what surprises (characters) they are hiding. We will talk more about that later below.

Marvel Rivals Fantastic Four Character Roles and Abilities

From what the leaks tell us, each member of the Fantastic Four team will play differently in the game. If you like dealing damage, you’ll want to check out Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) or Johnny Storm (Human Torch). They’re both set up as Duelists. Need someone tough to lead the team? Ben Grimm (The Thing) looks perfect as a Vanguard. And if you prefer controlling the battlefield, Sue Storm (Invisible Woman) is your pick as a Strategist.

Now take a good look again at the background of that reveal art. See those bats flying around and that blood-red moon? That’s not just random decoration. We feel that it’s hinting that Blade is next in line to join the Marvel Rivals roster of superheroes and villains. This makes perfect sense if you remember all those leaks from December 2024 that showed Blade’s character data in the game files.

Previous leaks last month gave us a good look at Blade’s possible abilities in Marvel Rivals. His abilities are said to include:

  • Stomp and Slash
  • Dark Night Attack
  • Fang Deflect
  • Bloodline Liberation
  • New Moon – Ultimate move

The vampire hunter’s ability names suggest he’ll likely join the game’s roster as a Duelist, focused on aggressive combat and taking fights to enemies. What do you think? Is the teaser art really teasing Blade, or are we reading too much into the background?

Marvel Rivals is still going strong on PS5, Xbox Series XS, and PC, and these new characters should give you some fresh ways to play the game. When the January 6th trailer drops, you’ll get all the details about how Marvel’s First Family will actually work in-game. We will see you on the battlefield!
