The Drylands is the newest fishing location in Fisch and it brings one of the most unique bestiaries in the game. With 22 fish spread across three sub-locations, a dedicated quest line, and some of the most challenging catches available right now, it is going to keep you busy for a while. Here is the complete Drylands bestiary and everything you need to know to work through it.
How to Get to the Drylands
The Drylands sit right next to the Heart of the Island. To get there, head to FischFest and make your way behind the castle. Once you reach the castle, go around from the left side, and you will eventually see another new island in the distance. You can walk up there and reach the Drylands.

Things to Know Before You Start
A few catches in the Drylands deserve special attention before you dive in. The Mirage Fin is the only fish that requires Foggy weather so you will need to wait for that specific weather condition to appear rather than grinding it in Clear weather like most other entries. The Dune-Stalker Eel, Reservoir Squalus, and the night variants all require nighttime so plan your sessions around the day and night cycle.
The Photic Terrosunder is in a category of its own. It is a Secret rarity catch that only appears during the Photic Terrosunder Hunt sub-event in the Drylands and has Progress locked at -95%, making it the hardest catch in the entire bestiary by a significant margin.
The Dune Relic is notable for having no preferences at all meaning it can show up in any weather, any time, and any season which makes it one of the more accessible catches here despite the unusual name.
Best Rods for the Drylands Bestiary
The right rod makes a significant difference when working through the Drylands bestiary especially for the harder catches like the Terrosunder Skull and Photic Terrosunder.
The Terrotrapper Rod is the obvious top recommendation for serious Drylands fishing. Crafted at the Ancient Archives on Ancient Isle it was built specifically for this location with 210% Luck, infinite Max Kg, and a passive kit that slashes for additional progress every 10 to 20 seconds.

For players who do not yet have either of those rods any high Luck rod with a strong Max Kg cap will cover the majority of the bestiary. Focus on Luck first since most Drylands fish are Luck-favoring and the difference between 100% and 200% Luck is very noticeable in practice.
