Scoria Reach was added in Version 1.71 on February 14, 2026. Before you can buy Scoria Armor, you need to complete 20% of the Scoria Reach Bestiary. The Bestiary tracks which fish you’ve caught from each location. To reach 20% completion, you need to catch several different fish species that live around Scoria Reach island.
Travel to Scoria Reach and start fishing in different spots around the island. Each time you catch a new fish species you haven’t caught before, your Bestiary percentage increases. Keep fishing in various locations until you see your Scoria Reach Bestiary reach 20% completion. This doesn’t take very long since you only need 20% and not the full 100%.
The key is catching different species rather than catching lots of the same fish. If you keep catching the same fish over and over, your Bestiary won’t increase. Move to different fishing spots around the island to find new species. Fish during different times of day and in different weather conditions to encounter more variety.
Buying and Equipping the Scoria Armor in Fisch

Talk to the merchant and purchase Scoria Armor for 75,000C$. This is a one-time purchase – once you buy it, you own it permanently. Make sure you have at least 75,000 cash saved up before attempting to unlock the armor. After buying Scoria Armor, open your inventory and equip it immediately. The armor completely negates the heat damage effect, letting you explore freely without any time pressure or health concerns.
