The Aquarium System in Fish It has officially opened its doors, and there is a whole lot to unpack with this one. From building your own underwater showcase to hunting down brand new fish, this update gives you plenty of fresh reasons to keep grinding. Let's break down everything you need to know.

How To Access The Fish It Aquarium

The aquarium building has been sitting in the Fish It world for ages, locked behind chains and waiting for its moment. To reach the area, you need to use your boat to visit the Underwater City POI, then go inside using the submarine first. If you haven't unlocked the submarine, you need to submit 20x Cosmic Tailfish to the Submarine Operator NPC.

If you unlocked the underwater, now you can walk right in and start setting things up. When you enter for the first time, a short cutscene plays that gives you a POV tour from inside the tanks themselves, which is a nice touch.

You do not need to pay anything to enter your own aquarium. The cost only kicks in when you start unlocking areas and tanks inside.

How to Build an Aquarium in Fish It

The aquarium is split into four separate areas, and each area holds multiple tanks where you can place your fish. The bigger areas hold more tanks, which means more room to show off your rarest catches.

You can place pretty much any fish you have caught into the tanks. The fun part is making your aquarium feel different from everyone else, so mixing rare catches with colorful, smaller ones tends to look the best.

Here is what each area will cost you, along with the number of tanks inside:

Fish It Aquarium
AreaUnlock CostTanks Inside
Area 1$500,0003 tanks
Area 2$500,0003 tanks
Area 3$1,000,0004 tanks
Area 4$2,000,0004 tanks

On top of the area unlock fee, each tank inside has chains that need to be removed before you can use it. These chains cost between $100,000 and $200,000 each, so budget for those too.

Fully opening out your aquarium will set you back a fair bit, but it gives you something meaningful to save up for.

Show Off Your Trophies and Rod Skins

Your tanks are not the only display spots in the aquarium. There are also dedicated stands for your fishing trophies and rod skins, with smaller spots for the little items and bigger pedestals for your prized rods. This is where your aquarium really starts to feel like your own personal museum.

If you have been hoarding rare rod skins or trophies from past events, now is the time to bring them out.

How to Visit Other Players' Aquariums

You can also tour other players' aquariums to see what they have collected. Just exit your aquarium through the blue door. Then when you are at the Aquarium Lobby, you can open the Visit menu, pick a player, and you will teleport over to check out their setup.

If you like what you see, you can drop them a like by pressing the thumbs-up icon. The Aquarium System gives Fish It the kind of long-term progression goal it has been missing. Instead of just selling every rare fish you catch, now you actually have a reason to keep them. Start with Area 1, work your way up, and do not forget to visit your friends to scope out their collections!
