Note: This article was updated on February 2nd, 2026, with all the latest charms in Fish It.
Charms just changed the entire late-game in Fish It. Before this update, catching secret fish was pure luck and, of course, lots and lots of waiting. Now you can actually target specific fish and boost your chances significantly. Let me show you how charms in Fish It work and why you need to start using them right now.

What Are Charms in Fish It?
Charms are special items you buy and equip to boost your chances of catching one specific fish in a specific location. Each charm focuses on a single target fish, which makes them super valuable when you’re hunting for those rare secrets to complete NPC quests.
Every charm in Fish It gives you a 1.5x multiplier on catching its target fish. While that boost may seem small, it matters a lot for secret fish with extremely low drop rates. Using the right charm can actually cut down the time you spend grinding.

Each charm lasts for a different amount of time before it expires. Once you hit that limit, you’ll need to buy another charm if you want to keep the boost going. There’s also a level requirement for each charm, so you can’t just start using them as a new player.
All Charms in Fish It and How to Get Them
Right now, Fish It has three charms available. More will probably get added in future updates, but these are the ones you can get today:
| Charm Name | Image | Target Fish | Level | Cost | Location |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bone Charm | ![]() | Bone Whale | Level 100 | 70,000 coins | Sacred Temple |
| Algae Charm | ![]() | Cryoshade Glider | Level 50 | 40,000 coins | Lost Isle |
| Magma Charm | ![]() | Magma Shark | Level 75 | 20,000 coins | Kohana Volcano |
Note: More charms will get added in future updates, and we will be updating this section every time there is a new one in the game.
1. Bone Charm
You’ll find the Bone Charm at the Ancient Jungle near the Sacred Temple area. Look for it outside the underground cellar entrance.

This charm specifically boosts your chances of catching the Bone Whale, which is one of the hardest secret fish to get in Fish It. Without this charm, you could fish in the underground cellar for days without seeing this fish. The base drop rate is extremely low (1 in 2 million!) so the 1.5x multiplier actually matters here.
You need to be level 100 to equip the Bone Charm, and it costs 70,000 coins to purchase. That’s pretty expensive, but if you’re at level 100, you’re probably sitting on enough coins to afford it. The Bone Whale is required for several progression paths, so this charm is basically essential for late-game players.
2. Algae Charm
The Algae Charm targets the Cryoshade Glider, another secret fish that’s tied to important quests and fishing rod upgrades. This charm is way more accessible than the Bone Charm because you only need level 50 to use it and it only costs 40,000 coins.

You’ll find the Algae Charm at Lost Isle, but it’s not sitting out in the open. You need to dive underwater and look around the temple structures down there. The Cryoshade Glider appears near the City Fish Statue location, and having this charm equipped makes that grind so much faster. If you’re working on getting the Ghost Fin Rod, this charm basically cuts your farming time in half.
3. Magma Charm

The Magma Charm specifically boosts your chances of catching the Magma Shark, which is very hard to catch in Fish It. Without this charm, you could fish inside the Volcanic Cavern with your Hazmat Suit for days without seeing this fish. The base drop rate is low (1 in 200,000), so the multiplier can really help you here with your luck.
You must reach level 75 to use the Magma Charm, and buying it costs 20,000 coins. The price is not that high compared to other charms in the game, so when you reach level 75, you can easily buy it.
How to Use Charms Properly in Fish It
What I am learning from grinding in this game is that just equipping a charm isn’t enough, though. You need to combine it with other advantages to get the best results possible. Here’s what you should do every time you’re hunting a secret fish with a charm equipped:
- First, make sure you’re using your best fishing rod. Higher luck stats on your rod stack with the charm boost, so don’t use a low-level rod just because you have a charm. Every little bit of luck helps!
- Second, pop a luck potion before you start fishing. You can get luck potions from various quests and events in Fish It. These potions stack with your rod and charm, too, so it can give you three separate boosts all working together.
- Third, and this is important – stay in one spot. Don’t keep moving around different fishing locations. Pick the exact spot where your target fish spawns and camp there. Moving around wastes your charm uses and resets your fishing rhythm. You want to maximize every single one of those 50 uses.
So those are all the charms in Fish It right now. My tip is, don’t buy charms until you’re actually ready to use them, because the developers clearly designed these for late-game quests. Wait until you have good rods, plenty of luck potions, and enough free time to actually grind for your target fish.
