Twitter Spaces allows you to have live audio discussions with others on any topic. While it is a great feature, you may have difficulty using it if Twitter Spaces stops working or crashes often on your Android or iPhone. Whether you can’t join a Twitter Space, are having audio problems, or are getting errors like ‘Could Not Fetch Space,’ the following solutions should help. So, let’s take a look.

1. Close and Reopen the App

Temporary app glitches could be why Twitter Spaces are not loading or showing up on your Android or iPhone. Hence, the first thing you should do is restart the Twitter app.

Long-press on the Twitter (or X) app icon and tap the info icon from the menu that appears. Tap the Force stop option at the bottom.

If you are using an iPhone, swipe up from the bottom of the screen (or press the Home Screen button twice) to access the app switcher. Swipe upwards on the Twitter (or X) card to close the app.

Reopen the app and try to join Twitter Space now.

2. Check Your Internet Connection

Another thing you should do is rule out any issues with your internet connection. If your internet connection is slow or unstable, it could make it seem like the Twitter Spaces are not working.

Open up a web browser on your phone and run a quick internet speed test. If there’s an issue with your internet, consider switching to a different network connection and try again.

3. Review App Permissions

Is your microphone not working during Twitter Spaces? Or are you unable to record or download a Twitter Space? That could happen if you have denied the Twitter app essential permissions on your Android or iPhone. Here’s how to change that.

Android

1. Long-press on the Twitter (or X) app icon and tap the info icon from the menu that appears. Then, tap on Permissions.

4. Sign Out and Sign Back In

Sometimes, temporary account-related issues can cause Twitter Spaces to stop working on your Android or iPhone. Most of the time, you can resolve the issue by simply signing out of your Twitter account and signing back in.

1. Open the Twitter app and tap the profile icon in the top left corner.

Sign back into your account and check if Twitter Spaces are working.

5. Temporarily Disable VPN

Although using a VPN connection allows you to browse the internet anonymously, it may also cause problems at times. You may be unable to join or create a Twitter Space due to issues with your VPN connection. To check for this possibility, temporarily disable your VPN connection and try using the app again.

6. Check if Twitter Is Down

It is not unusual for services like Twitter to experience outages from time to time. When this occurs, certain features, such as Twitter Spaces, may stop working. To overrule this possibility, you need to visit Downdetector and check if others are reporting similar issues.

If it’s a widespread issue, simply wait for Twitter to fix the problem and try again after some time.

7. Clear App Cache

Overwhelming or corrupt cache data could also cause the Twitter app to misbehave, resulting in such issues. You can try clearing the existing Twitter app cache to see if that fixes the problem.

1. Long press the Twitter (or X) app icon and tap the info icon from the menu that pops open.

2. Go to Storage and tap the Clear cache option.

8. Update the App

Finally, if none of the above suggestions work, you may be using an outdated version of the Twitter app. Head over to the App Store or Play Store and search for the Twitter (X) app. If an update is available, install it and see if that gets Twitter Spaces to show up and work on your phone.

Empower Your Thoughts with Twitter Spaces

Twitter has been through a lot of changes lately, so it’s not surprising if you run into a few glitches while using it. Hopefully, the solutions provided above have been helpful, and Twitter Spaces are now working on your Android or iPhone.
