Surviving in Forsaken requires more than just running away from the killer. The best survivors understand stamina management, know when to complete objectives versus helping teammates, and can read killer behavior to avoid getting caught. With survivors working together against one powerful killer, coordination and smart decision-making determine whether your team survives until the timer runs out or gets eliminated before time expires. These Forsaken Survivor strategies will help you improve your survival rate and contribute more effectively to your team's success.

How to Play Survivor in Forsaken

Survivors win matches by staying alive until the timer reaches zero. The timer starts high but can be reduced significantly by completing map objectives. Each objective type removes a few seconds per completion. Your role as a survivor depends on which character you choose. Sentinels like Guest 1337 and Shedletsky specialize in stunning killers to protect teammates. Survivalists like Noob and 007n7 have self-sustaining abilities that help them survive longer in chases. Supports like Elliot and Builder Man focus on healing teammates or providing defensive utilities like sentries and dispensers.

Every survivor shares the same basic movement mechanics. You have a stamina bar that depletes while sprinting and regenerates while walking. Managing this stamina effectively separates good survivors from bad ones.

The killer moves slightly faster than sprinting survivors, meaning you cannot outrun them indefinitely. You must use obstacles, buildings, and tight corners to break line of sight and create distance.

Best Strategies to Win as a Survivor

  • Master stamina management above all else: Never let your stamina drop to zero during a chase. When stamina hits zero, it takes significantly longer to regenerate compared to stopping at 25 or 30 stamina. Keep your stamina above 25 as an absolute minimum.
  • Hug corners as tight as possible during chases: Running wide around corners wastes stamina and gives the killer opportunities to cut you off. Take the shortest path around every obstacle by staying close to walls and objects.
  • Track the killer's location constantly: Pay attention to where the killer spawns. Keep your camera moving and check for the killer's position regularly. Knowing where the killer is lets you path safely and avoid running straight into them in dead zones with no stamina. If you lose track of the killer, assume they're close and play cautiously until you spot them again.
  • Understand your character's role and play to it: If you're playing a Sentinel like Guest 1337 or Shedletsky, position yourself to protect vulnerable teammates with stuns. Don't hide in corners waiting for the killer to leave. If you're playing Support like Elliot or Builder Man, prioritize healing teammates who are being chased and are low on HP. If you're playing Survivalist like Noob, you can take more risks since your abilities help you survive longer without team support.
  • Learn killer ability cooldowns and punish them. Every killer has cooldowns on their major abilities. Cool Kid's pizza delivery has a 50-second cooldown. John Doe's spike traps and teleportation have specific cooldowns. 1x1x1x1's mass infection and entanglement have cooldowns you can track. When these abilities are on cooldown, the killer can only use basic melee attacks, making them much easier to loop around obstacles. Use these windows to create distance or complete objectives while the killer is weakened.
  • Don't be predictable with stuns: If you're a Sentinel, don't just stand still and wait for the killer to walk into your stun. Good killers will bait your stun by stopping just outside range, then punish you when it's on cooldown.
  • Prioritize staying alive over everything else. A dead survivor adds seconds to the timer and removes one player from the team. Even if you haven't completed a single objective, simply staying alive until the timer expires contributes to victory. Don't take unnecessary risks that could get you killed. If the killer is camping an objective, leave it and work on a different one.

Understanding these strategies transforms average survivors into players who consistently make it to the end of matches. Focus on stamina management and teamwork, and you'll find yourself winning far more often than losing. For more guides check out our Forsaken wiki.
