The Fortnite and Overwatch crossover has added a lot to Chapter 7 Season 2, and the Caduceus Staff is one of the more interesting additions. It is Mercy's signature item, and unlike most things in Fortnite, it is not a weapon. It does not eliminate players. What it does instead is keep your team alive, which in the right situation is just as valuable. Here is how you can find Caduceus Staff in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2.

Where to Find the Caduceus Staff in Fortnite?

Despite being a Legendary rarity item, the Caduceus Staff is not particularly hard to come by. You can find it through regular chests, floor loot, and Overwatch Loot Caches spread across the map. You can also purchase it from Rivalry Vending Machines, marked as sword icons on the map, using Rivalry Credits.

How to Use Caduceus Staff in Fortnite?

This item has two main uses, and both of them are support-focused.

  • Holding the fire button activates the healing beam. It works on teammates and on yourself if no one else is around. The staff has a total of 300 effective HP worth of healing, distributed at 5 HP per second, covering both health and shield. For a team that is pushing into a late-game zone or recovering after a fight, having someone with a Caduceus Staff nearby makes a real difference.
  • The second ability is more of a mobility tool. Holding the aim button while in the air lets you glide slowly.
  • There is also a third passive benefit worth knowing. Simply having the staff equipped slows your falling speed, which means you avoid fall damage in situations where you might otherwise take a hit landing from height.

Is It Worth Picking Up

If you are playing in a squad, yes, absolutely. The Caduceus Staff fills a role that almost nothing else in Fortnite's current loot pool covers. Most healing items are self-focused, so having something that actively supports teammates mid-fight changes how you can play together. The gliding ability is a bonus on top of that. Even in solo play, the self-healing and fall damage negation give it enough utility to be worth holding onto over lesser items.
