Fortnite is throwing its very first Community Day this May, and it might be one of the best reasons to boot up the game all season. It's a one-day celebration packed with surprises, and the players themselves had a big say in how it all plays out. So what free rewards do you get, and why should you care about this event? When Does Fortnite Community Day Start?
Fortnite Community Day begins on Saturday, May 30th, 2026, at 6 AM PT and runs for a full 24 hours, wrapping up on Sunday, May 31st, at 6 AM PT. Here’s when it releases in different time zones:

Fortnite Community Day Rewards
The free loot is the main draw here. Just by playing during the event window, you unlock a handful of cosmetics that won't cost you a single V-Buck. Here's what's up for grabs and how to get each one:
- Community 'Brella - A free umbrella cosmetic, plus the Indigo Kuno Community 'Brella Style.
- Silver Surfer Wrap - A weapon wrap based on the iconic Marvel character.
- Business Casual Foundation Style - An exclusive new look for the Foundation skin, but only if you already own the Fortnite Showdown Battle Pass.
The first three items are available to everyone just for logging in. The Foundation style is the only one connected to a condition, so if you have the Battle Pass, make sure you don't skip this day. Epic has also hinted that more Community 'Brella styles are coming in future Community Days.
Gameplay Changes on Community Day
Beyond the free rewards, the actual gameplay during Community Day is also different from a normal match. The changes are actually based on the results of community voting. This time, the community voted for Finger Guns and larger Slapperoni Pizza Slice stacks as the winning options, so you can expect to see these classic features unvaulted during Community Day.
If you're new to these, Finger Guns are exactly what they sound like. You point your hand like a gun and fire off quick shots, which makes for a goofy but fun playstyle. The bigger pizza stacks just mean more healing per pickup, so staying topped up in a fight gets a lot easier.
Bonuses Active All Day
On top of the unvaulted items, a bunch of stacking bonuses run the entire 24 hours:
- 5x Rivalry Credits
- Double XP up to 50 levels
- Twitch Drops
- Blue Chests
- Golden Fireworks
There are also a few time-limited moments to watch for, including a Community Day Power Hour featuring the Cube Rifle and Infinity Blade in chests, the Showdown: Epilogue, and a live reveal for the End of Season "Shattered" event.
