So, the Empire is about to blast the Fortnite island to pieces? Not on our watch! The Death Star Sabotage event is happening soon, and it’s gonna be huge. Here’s everything you need to know about Fortnite Death Star Sabotage event, so you can join the fight and take down Emperor Palpatine‘s superweapon.

Death Star Sabotage Event Schedule

The big event starts on Saturday, June 7th, 2025, at 2 PM ET. But here’s a tip: Get in early! The event tile will show up in your Discover tab at 12 PM ET, giving you two whole hours to get ready. During this prep time, you can fly around in X-wing fighters or TIE fighters while waiting for the main event. Once the countdown hits zero, you’re jumping straight into the Death Star mission.

How to Join Fortnite Death Star Sabotage Event

Getting into this event is pretty straightforward. You just need to log into Fortnite, and play matches until the event starts automatically. You can play on any device like PC, console, phone, or even through cloud gaming services like Xbox Cloud Gaming. The event supports up to four players in your party, so grab your squad!

Epic Games is also giving away some sweet stuff just for logging in to prepare for the Death Star Sabotage event. Between June 3rd and June 10th, you’ll instantly get:

  • Assault on the Death Star Loading Screen
  • Quicksilver Baton Spear Pickaxe (Captain Phasma‘s weapon)

You don’t have to do anything special. Just log into Fortnite during that time and the items are yours.

Star Destroyer Bombardment

Before the main event, you get to test out some serious firepower. Starting May 29th, a special portal will appear in every match. Find it first, and you’ll get teleported up to a Star Destroyer floating above the map.

From up there, you control massive cannons that can blow up buildings instantly and seriously hurt anyone below. It’s like being the boss of the whole match for a few minutes. When the ship reaches the end of its path, you get sent back down to continue fighting. Players still on the ground will see this huge ship slowly moving overhead, so they’d better find cover fast!

While details are still a secret, expect huge cinematic moments, space battles, and probably some major map changes. You’ll likely pilot different Star Wars vehicles, fight Imperial forces, and help destroy the Death Star before it can blow up the island.
