Fortnite is getting another massive crossover, and this time it’s with Resident Evil Requiem. The game is dropping on February 27th, 2026, and to celebrate, Epic Games is giving players a chance to grab the Grace Ashcroft skin in Fortnite completely for free. Here’s everything you need to know to get her.
How to Get Grace Ashcroft for Free in Fortnite
So the only way to get this skin for free is that you need to purchase Resident Evil Requiem on the Epic Games Store. The game has been available for pre-purchase since October 29th, 2025, and you can still grab it on launch day, February 27th, 2026. Buying the game after launch also counts, so you don’t have to pre-order specifically.
Here are the steps to follow:
- Open the Epic Games Store on your browser or desktop app.
- Search for Resident Evil Requiem.
- Complete your purchase.
- Make sure you’re signed into the same Epic Games account linked to your Fortnite profile.
That’s it. Once you do that, Grace Ashcroft is locked in for your locker. However, don’t be worried if you don’t see the skin right away. Grace Ashcroft will be distributed to players in March 2026, sometime after the game-launch.
Grace Ashcroft Item Shop Release
If you’re not planning to buy Resident Evil Requiem, you can still get the skin through the Fortnite Item Shop. Here’s the full schedule for that: The skin will arrive in the Item Shop on February 28th, 2026, at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET. It won’t stay for long, though, because the last day to buy this skin is March 7th, 2026.
As usual, the individual skin will cost you 1,500 V-Bucks. However, if you buy Grace from the Item Shop and then purchase Resident Evil Requiem later through the Epic Games Store, you’ll get your 1,500 V-Bucks refunded. So that’s pretty awesome, right?
But, no refund loophole! If you buy Resident Evil Requiem to get the free skin and then refund the game, Grace Ashcroft will be removed from your Fortnite locker. The skin only stays as long as you own the game.
Is Grace Ashcroft Worth Getting?
If you were already planning to pick up Resident Evil Requiem, getting Grace for free is a no-brainer. You’re basically getting a Fortnite skin as a bonus on top of a game you were buying anyway. If you’re only here for the skin and not the game, the Item Shop option at 1,500 V-Bucks is the easier route.
