Ice King Gauntlets are a Mythic weapon added to Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2. These gauntlets shoot ice projectiles and create freezing storms that damage enemies. Just like most other Fortnite bosses, only one Ice King boss spawns per match, so you'll need to fight other players and the boss himself to claim this weapon. Here's where to find the Ice King in Fortnite and how his gauntlets work.

Ice King Gauntlets Overview in Fortnite

The Ice King Gauntlets have two separate attacks. Ice Attack fires ice projectiles that explode on impact. Ice Bomb creates a blizzard zone that damages anyone standing inside. Both attacks use the same 100-charge ammo pool. Once you use all 100 charges, the gauntlets disappear, and you can't reload them.

How to Get Ice King Gauntlets in Fortnite?

You can easily find Ice King Boss in the northern part of the map, as he spawns at Frigid Fortress. He can also spawn around Dark Dominion's outskirts, so do make sure you check that area as well if you cannot find him at Frigid Fortress. Only one Ice King spawns per match, so if someone else eliminated him already, you won't find the gauntlets that game.

How to Defeat Ice King Gauntlets?

Defeating Ice King works pretty similarly to how you take down other bosses in Fortnite. However, I would say this fight is a bit hard as Ice King doesn't fight alone and is accompanied by Lady Winterfrost. She will keep throwing Chug Splashes at him during the fight to heal him. You can take either path of defeating the Lady first or the boss, I recommend you take down the Lady Winterfrost first, as it will take out the healing factor that usually gets annoying in a prolonged fight, especially if you are low on resources.

Hide behind cover inside the fortress to avoid his shots. Use high DPS weapons like SMGs to burn through his health quickly. After eliminating the Ice King, he drops the Ice King Gauntlets and a Chug Jug.

How to Use Ice King Gauntlets in Fortnite

The gauntlets have two different attacks mapped to different buttons:

  • Ice Attack (Primary Fire) - Shoots ice projectiles that explode on impact. Each shot deals 50 damage in a splash radius.
  • Ice Bomb (Secondary Fire) - Creates a large blizzard field on the ground. The storm deals 65 damage when it first impacts, then ticks for 5 damage every second to anyone standing inside. The blizzard lasts 5 seconds total and has a 15-second cooldown before you can use it again.

Both attacks pull from the same 100-charge ammo pool. The gauntlets never reload - once you empty all 100 charges, the weapon vanishes from your inventory. Manage your ammo carefully since 100 shots sounds like a lot, but runs out faster than you think during intense fights.
