Team Ice King has officially won Act 1 of the Fortnite Showdown Rivalries event, and that means its vault is now open for everyone. If you want to grab the loot inside, here's exactly how to open Ice King's Vault in Fortnite, step by step.
How to Find the Ice King's Vault Key
Before you can open the vault, you need the Ice King's Vault Key. This is a Legendary item, so it's worth grabbing before you do anything else.
The key doesn't drop from defeating the Ice King. Instead, it spawns in one of the small towers scattered around the Frigid Fortress. There are multiple possible spawn spots, so check all the towers near the main castle POI. If it's not in one spot, check the next tower nearby.
Once you find it, pick it up and hold onto it. You'll need it to actually open the vault.
How to Open Ice King's Vault in Fortnite
The vault itself is in the southernmost part of Frigid Fortress, right near the Rivalry Screen. When you get to the right building, look down at the floor. You'll notice a section of the floor that looks different from the rest, almost like a hatch shape. That's your vault entrance.
Now follow the steps:
- Walk up to it while holding the key.
- Press the Interact button when the prompt appears, and the hatch will open up.
- You can use the Zipline inside to drop down safely into the vault below.

The vault has a solid amount of loot worth fighting over. Here's what you can find inside:
