Fortnite is doing something very awesome this week, and it has nothing to do with a new battle pass or skin drop. Star Wars fans and casual players are about to get a front-row seat to one of the biggest movie releases of the year, all from inside the game. If you have been keeping up with the May Star Wars campaign, this is the headliner you do not want to miss. Here is everything you need to know about how to join the Fortnite Mandalorian and Grogu Watch Party Island.
How to Join Fortnite Mandalorian and Grogu Watch Party Island
The Fortnite Mandalorian and Grogu Watch Party Island is a new experience made by Fairview Portals and Beyond Creative in partnership with Epic Games and Disney. The island is based on Nevarro, the rocky planet from The Mandalorian.
In the middle of the island, there’s a large amphitheater with a giant screen. When the event starts, players will first see a special message from director Jon Favreau. After that, the first 10 minutes of The Mandalorian and Grogu will play.
The movie will release in theaters on Friday, May 22, 2026, so this gives players an early preview before most people get to watch it.
This is not the first time Fortnite has done something like this. Back in 2019, the game hosted a live event for The Rise of Skywalker, and it has also screened Christopher Nolan films like Inception and Batman Begins.
Fortnite Mandalorian and Grogu Watch Party Start Time
The island is already visible on Fortnite's main menu, but you cannot jump in until the event officially goes live.

If you are planning to catch it live with friends, set a reminder a little early. These kinds of events tend to get a flood of players right at launch, so loading in a few minutes ahead can save you some queue time.
What You Can Do on Nevarro in Fortnite
The island is not just a movie theater with seats. Once you spawn in, you get recruited as a Deputy, and the city throws a few jobs your way:
- Collect bounties - You play the role of a bounty hunter, tracking down targets around the city. It is a quick way to soak in the Star Wars atmosphere, and it gives you something to do between rounds of action.
- Defend the city from enemies - Nevarro comes under attack, and you have to push back. Expect Stormtroopers to come pouring in, and you will need to hold the line solo or with friends.
- Find Grogu - There is also a search element where you go looking for Grogu around the map. It is more of a casual exploration objective, but a fun side quest if you are a fan of the little guy.
Additionally, if you spend 20 minutes exploring Nevarro, you can get the Mandalorian Sanctuary loading screen for free! For anyone who collects Star Wars cosmetics, this is a super awesome freebie you should get.
The Watch Party Island has one more event lined up after the movie releases, too. On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, you can head back to the amphitheater for a live Q&A with Jon Favreau.
