Fortnite's Save the World mode just went free-to-play, and Epic is giving out free rewards to celebrate. If you watch the right streams on Twitch, you can unlock three exclusive items, including a Legendary Hero that probably won't show up in the Item Shop. Here's everything you need to know to get the Save the World Twitch Drops in Fortnite before it ends.
What are the Save the World Twitch Drops?
Fortnite Twitch Drops are free in-game rewards you earn just by watching streams. You don't need to play anything. Just have the stream open, hit the watch time milestone, and claim your reward.
There are three rewards up for grabs in this event:
| Reward | Image | Watch Time Needed |
|---|---|---|
| STW Mood Emoji | ![]() | 30 minutes |
| Storm Chasers Spray | ![]() | 1 hour |
| Urban Assault Headhunter | ![]() | 4 hours |
The Legendary Urban Assault Headhunter is the real prize here. She's one of the best Assault Rifle heroes in Save the World, and since Epic hasn't confirmed a shop listing, the drops event might be your only free shot at her.
How to Get the Fortnite Save the World Twitch Drops
Step 1: Link your Epic and Twitch accounts
Your watch time won't count unless your accounts are connected. Here's how to do it:
- Go to the Epic Games website and log in.
- Head to Account Settings, then Linked Accounts.
- Click the Twitch icon and hit Connect.
- Follow the prompts to authorize the link.

Step 2: Find a Save the World Stream on Twitch
Go to Twitch and search for the Fortnite category. Look for streams that have the "Drops Enabled" tag, only those count. The drops only work on Save the World streams, not Battle Royale. Make sure the streamer is actually playing the PvE mode, not the regular BR or Zero Build.

Step 3: Watch and claim
- Keep the stream open and don't mute it, as Twitch can stop tracking muted windows.
- When you hit a milestone, you'll get a Twitch notification.
- Go to Twitch, and then choose Drops & Rewards and hit Claim manually.
- Your items will show up in Fortnite within 24 hours
When Does the Event End?
The Save the World Twitch Drops event runs from Thursday, April 16th to Monday, April 20th, 2026. Start with the easiest one (30 minutes for the emoji), and let the watch time build from there. By the time you hit 4 hours, you'll have all three rewards.
These kinds of events don't stick around, and there's no guarantee these items, especially the Legendary Headhunter, will ever be available again for free. Set aside a couple of evenings this week with a Save the World stream in the background, and you'll have all three locked in before Sunday.
