Act 1 of the Fortnite Showdown Rivalries is done, and both vaults on the map are now unlocked. While the Ice King Vault gets a lot of attention, the Seven Compound Vault is actually worth prioritizing if you're hunting for Mythic loot. Here's exactly how to open the Seven Compound Vault in Fortnite, step by step.
How to Find the Seven Compound Vault Key
Just like the Ice King's Vault, you need a key before you can get inside. The Seven Compound Vault Key spawns somewhere around the edges of New Sanctuary.
The key shows up on the top floor of one of the small compound buildings that are scattered around the outskirts of the POI. Each of these buildings has a staircase leading up, so it's easy to check them quickly. The exact building changes each match, so you may need to check a couple before you find it.
How to Open the Seven Compound Vault in Fortnite
Once you have the key, go to the underground level of New Sanctuary. The compound has a below-ground section, and the vault is sitting at the far end of that underground area.
When you get to the vault door, look to the right side, and you'll see a keypad. Interact with it to start the unlocking process, where you have to swipe the key.
Unlike the Ice King Vault, this one is a little riskier to open. The moment you interact with the keypad, all the red sirens go off, so every player nearby is going to hear it and know exactly where you are. The best strategy is, before you interact with that keypad, make sure you've cleared the underground area and checked the entrance above. You do not want to be stuck in a basement while enemies push you from above.
What's Inside the Vault
The Seven Compound Vault actually has better potential loot than the Ice King Vault because of one item in particular:

The Foundation's Power Gloves Mythic is not a guaranteed drop, but it can spawn inside the vault. If it does show up, grab it immediately since it's one of the stronger Mythic items available this season.
Having a mobility item like the Skyline Deployer is also a smart move here. If things go sideways after the sirens go off, you'll want a quick way out. The Port-a-Potty inside the vault also gives you a fast exit back to the surface once you're done looting.
The Seven Compound Vault is one of the best drop locations now in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 right now, especially with the chance of getting a Mythic.
