Epic just dropped a trailer for Fortnite Showdown Rivalry Act 2, and there's a lot to unpack. The Elites are coming back to the island, and it looks like things are about to get a whole lot more intense in Chapter 7 Season 2.
What is Fortnite Showdown Rivalry Act 2?
If you've been playing this season, you already know how it works. Chapter 7 Season 2 has been running on an Act system, where each Act brings a bigger mid-season update with new content, weapons, and story moments.
Act 1 started off with the Ice King and the Foundation taking center stage. Act 2 is picking up from where that left off, and this time, The Elites are the ones stepping into the spotlight.
The update goes live on Thursday, April 16, 2026, alongside the next regular Fortnite patch.
Who Are The Elites in Fortnite?
The Elites are one of Fortnite's own factions. They're original Fortnite characters with their own history in the game's story.
They first showed up back in Chapter 6 Season 2, tied to the Shadow organization that some of you might remember from Chapter 2. The group is led by Zadie, a Shadow agent with a very no-nonsense, military vibe. Other members include Slone, Jules, Daigo, Metal Mouth, Princess Lexa, and Prince Orin.

In Chapter 7, they’ve been sending coded messages to Hope and are slowly becoming part of the story with the Dark Voyager. Act 2 looks like the point where they stop hiding and finally show up.
Fortnite Showdown Rivalry Act 2 Trailer
The Act 2 trailer is short but packed with details. It mainly focuses on Elite Jules, one of the Battle Pass skins this season, working in a workshop. She's building something new, and you actually get to see it fire.
The new weapon might be an evolution of the Arc Lightning weapon from Chapter 7 Season 1. It fires exploding energy orbs that seem to react to the environment around them, knocking over objects and breaking through structures.
The main rivalry for this Act is going to be Elite Jules vs Dasha, which is a completely new clash of characters. Just like Act 1 had its two sides, where you had to choose between Ice King or The Foundation, Act 2 will bring a fresh set of milestones tied to these two factions for you to complete.
